Well, anemia has nothing to do with protein, it's a lack of iron in the diet. So you might want to consume iron-rich foods, which are listed on the following page:
http://www.vrg.org/nutrition/iron.htm
There's some information on iron as well.
You can eat enough food so that you consume enough iron, protein, and all your other neccessary nutrients AND lose weight as long as you mind your calories and exercise, exercise, exercise. As long as you burn off more calories than you take in, you'll lose weight. Exercise also helps rev up your metabolism, trims your body of fat and adds muscle instead (which means your body will burn more calories naturally!), etc.
Dieting alone usually results in just packing the pounds on again once you're done, because your metabolism will slow down and you might not necessarily be losing weight that is fat, but weight that is water and muscle as well.

If you eat protein foods like tofu, beans, and nuts and eat only vegetables, you will lose weight.

They have good tools for find the nutrients you are looking for. Remember to choose high fiber foods. They help to make you feel full without adding calories and have lots of other benefits. Be sure to add a source of Omega 3 fatty acids to your diet, like flax seed or hemp oil. It serves many purposes including helping your body break down stored fat and use it as energy.
I have lost over twenty pounds this year by cutting down on my portions and avoiding refined carbs, like sugar and white flour. I even ate dark chocolate and lost weight. Now I just don't want chocolate, which is amazing, since for my whole life I thought it was my favorite food that I couldn't live without! I've been a vegetarian since 1970.
One thing to keep in mind, focus on what you are going to eat, not what you're avoiding or feel you can't eat. If you need a little treat now and again, that's OK as long as you don't go overeat. it really doesn't take too many days and your stomach shrinks and your body wants healthy food. Just don't think about things that are fattening and unhealthy, like chips or soda. etc.
Anemia comes from a lack of iron, B-12, folic acid or bloodloss. If you choose your food carefully you chould be OK. If you are vegan consider supplementing B-12.

Veg is absolutely right. The only way to lose weight is to burn more calories than you put in. You can do this either by putting in fewer calories, or by burning more.
Your body converts protein to energy, so the more protein you eat, the more calories you will eat. The best way to have a healthy life is a low-fat diet with an appropriate amount of exercise.

Tofu is a protein that is low in fat and cholestoral, you can try stir frying it in a mash, with just a little virgin olive oil and lots of herbs.
You can also have legumes with whole grains to form a complete protein. You may have to watch quantities though if you are putting on weight. Just try and stick to low fat ingredients such as vegetable stock or tomato puree without sugar etc in it.
Eat more falafels and lentil burgers. You could also have chilli (beans) .
As you haven't mentioned what you are eating, it is hard to tell you how to improve on it. A lot of times it is what is added to a meal that has the fat in it - such as a sauce that could have fats etc in it, so watch out for that.
It is easy to get a low fat vegetable stock that will add flavour and cut down on your calories- just look at the ingredients and calories on the pack.
Nuts are also a good protein source but many are high in fat (though they have the good fats in them) so just balance them with whatever else you are eating. Eat a handful of nuts for a snack instead of chocolate.
If you are low in iron you need to eat a lot more greens and legumes (such as kidney beans and lentils), these have vegetarian iron.
You need to have vitamin c to help absorb the vegetarian iron sources.
Also don't have tea, coffee or wine with your food as this can inhibit the absorption of vegetarian iron. Drink between meals if you drink.
If you eat eggs at all, they have high protein, otherwise stick to the tofu, legumes and nuts.
There are also high protein shakes (such as whey protein or soy protein) if you are looking for instant boosts.
Quinoa is a grain with more protein than other grains, and you can get high protein flours such as besan (made with garbazos or chick peas) also use hummus in your sandwiches.
Better still make a chick pea paste your self by mashing or processing the chick peas and just add a little oil and tahini (as they add more fat to the hummus) just flavour with herbs (such as parsley, coriander and garlic) and spices and lemon juice. Make sure you are using whole wheat breads or pitas to get the complete protein.

You've got it really mixed up... weight (fat), protein, anaemia, ...
Metabolism has to do with your percentage of excess fat.
Lose your excess fat by doing exercise.
Throw away the scale, when you exercise you will also gain weight as your muscles get bigger as muscle weights more than twice as much as fat.
So, exercise. Eat a variety of healthy organic whole foods. Lots of fruits, grains, green leafy veggies, legumes, on and on it goes... endless foods out there.
