I know they are vegetarian, but are they vegan? They often have a warning on their package saying that they are made in a factory that also manufacture milk and egg products, etc. if I'm striving for strict veganism, should i eat this brand?

Yes, Yves products are vegan. The thing with "shared equipment" or "a factory that also manufactures" is that many vegan companies have to share factories and/or equipment in order to bring you their products. If you're only going to patronize companies that keep exclusively vegan equipment, you're withdrawing your support for worthwhile companies and ultimately making it harder to find vegan products on the market.

This is a great question.

The answer is that MOST of Yves products are vegan, NOT ALL. Check the package.

I noticed that Yves has a 'shrimp' that contains milk.

All of the deli meats are vegan, the sausages, dogs, burgers, etc.

As someone stated, though these products are vegan and almost always low in fat/cal, they are overly healthy. Soy us actually terrible for the body and should be consumed in moderation.

That being said, my family eats the yves products like they're going out of style- it's difficult not to with school aged children (school lunch).

Also, have a try at daiya cheese (I only eat it melted to ward the semi-graininess). Daiya us an amazing brand that avoids soy, milk, egg, wheat, etc.

And if you're going for strict vegan- no regular white or brown sugar! It's not vegan! Get some raw beet sugar or, (my pref is) raw cane sugar. (Note, regular cane sugar isn't strict vegan).

Have fun! Veganism is one of my most proud life changes.

I don't know if all the Yves products are vegan, but these are vegan according to PETA:

Yves Original Jumbo Dog
Yves Veggie Cuisine—Veggie Breakfast Links
Yves Veggie—Canadian Veggie Bacon
Yves Veggie Cuisine—Hot ’n’ Spicy Veggie Chili Dogs
Yves Veggie Cuisine—Veggie Chick’n Burgers
Yves Veggie Cuisine—Veggie Turkey Slices

Don't worry if a vegan product says it was manufactured on the same equipment as non-vegan products. This info is just for people with allergies. No animals are going to suffer if your product touches machinery with traces of dairy/eggs on it.

I have eaten Yves products before and absolutely love them. They are strictly soy products, however, I would suggest looking at the Yves website and maybe contacting them. I believe they are vegan. They will let you know.

Yes, all vegan.
Even their Lasagna is vegan.
I love their products -- great stuff, but WAY out of my budget. I think I'd have to be earning a lot more money to be able to afford that stuff -- so I just use it once in a while, about as often as I use ice-cream and for the same reason, special treat.

I think they have these kabob-type things that aren't vegan, but most of their stuff is.
