it is comprised mainly of very hard fibrous scar tissue
arterial muscle cells

calcium deposits collagen white blod cells blood platelets

and finally cholesterol in small amounts to reenforce it and various fats

Cholesterol does NOT make up that much of it it and is ONE OF MANY MANY ingredients
P.S. Out of the smallamounts of various fats found in an atherosclerotic plaque POLYUNSATURATED FAT makes up 80 %
