We believe that we are all the spirit children of our Father in Heaven. Jesus Christ was the first born and chosen to be the Savior of us all. Satan rebelled against God and was thrown out of heaven. According to our Father's plan, we have all come to earth to receive a physical body [and all who have ever lived on earth were counted among those who followed Christ in the 'pre-existance']-- Jesus Christ atoned for our sins so that we can go home to God the Father. Satan and those who followed him were lost the privilege to receive bodies of their own.
Satan is not the equal of Christ.

It is misleading to state that Mormons believe Satan and Jesus are brothers without further explanation. Mormons believe that God the Father created all things, so He created both Jesus (God the Son), Lucifer (Satan), and all mankind. Jesus and Lucifer are "brothers" in the sense that God the Father created both of them, in the same sense that Hitler, Mother Teresa, Albert Einstein, and I are all "brothers." It doesn't imply any special affinity or friendship between Jesus and Lucifer. Obviously, they are on opposite sides of the whole good/evil divide.

The Mormon Church itself has clarified this issue: "Like other Christians, we believe Jesus is the divine Son of God. Satan is a fallen angel. As the Apostle Paul wrote, God is the Father of all. That means that all beings were created by God and are His spirit children. Christ, however, was the only begotten in the flesh, and we worship Him as the Son of God and the Savior of mankind."

To answer your question in a word - YES!
Your question brings up the real problem with religions of all kinds. Most people are raised in whatever "religion" your parents were and you know of nothing else. As Marx said - 'it is the opiate of the masses" and as such, most people don't have a clue as to what they are practicing.
I have brought this up hundreds of times through my years to people of all "faiths" for them to sit down and research the religion they are practicing. I would say that 90%+ have not a clue as to the foundations, laws and rites of their religion.
Mormons - check out what you are doing!
Jehovah's Witness - check it out!
Muslims - LOOK!
Christians - what do you really believe in?
Everyone - Don't just "believe" - understand!

I've never heard that one. But in a sense, are they not related? Satan was/is an Angel. And Jesus is God's Son. Both were created by God.

Pretty much, because they believe that each being started as a human, and was elevated to "Godhood". They think that because they follow the leader, they will after death be given charge of their own universe.

White sheep/Black sheep? The Yin and the Yang? Does it matter what superstitions religions choose to believe? Maybe you can find the answer on their web site and then you won't have to speculate or get "dumb" answers on Y/A.
