I have two young male cats who are not even a year old yet. I can't let them sleep in my room bceuase they keep me up all night running around. They leave me alone until 6:30am, the time I get up for work. This is helpful cause I can't over sleep but on Saturdays and Sundays I can't sleep in becase they meow at my door non-stop until I get up. They have plenty of food and water, their litter box is clean and they have tons of toys. I have tried scaring them. Using a water bottle and spraying water at them. They meow for an hour then I open my dorr and they run because they know I am going to chase them. BUT then 2 minutes later they come back again meowing. Please, does anyone have an idea on how to stop this???

Cats can't tell the difference if it's Monday or Saturday. No way for them to tell, other than your behavior. You usually get up at 6:30 so their internal clocks say it's time to get up now.

The best suggestion I have would be to put them in another room where they can't claw at your door and howl.

I have a cat that knows when it's time to get up and he has saved me from being late when the electricity has been off. He runs into my nose with this hard little head. BONK! That's a rude awakening and my nose stings for awhile. I'm trying to teach him NOT to do that but he apparently considers me part of his immediate family because that's how my cats seem to greet each other. If he'd poke me with his paw it would be much easier to take, but so far as resisted any training I've tried to give.

Turn the radio or tv on low, so they have sounds other than what you're making.

Get them NEUTERED! They could have most of this problem from being whole and wanting to mate.

Stop the water & discipline you're currently doing (it's not working) and work on rewarding the positive--open your door in the morning and CALL them to breakfast and give them a small amount of something different, like cottage cheese, or one tablespoon of wet cat food. Make a big deal about them coming when you call and say their name as you put it in front of them. Then ignore them as you go about your wake up routine.

By refixing them on responding to you when you get excited and call them for something special, that defuses the other things they're doing. You aren't responding to their prodding, but initiating a contact, and they'll pick up on that if you're consistent.

Our cats aren't that bad but we have a brother and sister and their feral behaviour settled down a bit after they were desexed (spayed) they still run around the house and act feral and jump up onto the bed at 3am in the morning playing chasings sometimes but a good yelling at them seems to settle them down - if they were naughty we'd lock them out of the bedroom.. Ours have their own beds and pedestool as we call it (scratching post - large one) that they can play on and sleep on but they also snuggled up with myself and the ex in the kingsize bed - they tend to snuggle when it's colder. In the morning they'd gently climb all over my ex and nudge his face with their paws and rub against him as he used to feed them in the morning and me in the evening.. If they're not desexed try that or try letting them sleep with you and lock them out if they're feral halfway through the night if yelling doesn't work maybe...
