I use to have dark blonde to light brown hair but yesturday I used a medium brown hair dye that resulted in my hair turning very dark brown ( in some light it even looks black!) I washed it today and some of the dye came out. does anyone think a lot of the colour will come out or is it worth dying my hair lighter.
also are their any lightening kits anyone can recommend or lightening shampoo?
Thank you!

dying your hair again could cause damage as overprocessing can turn hair to straw

If you used a boxed product, extra pigment will continue to wash out for a couple of washes, and then will continue to fade over the next 6 weeks or so. Because you just dyed your hair, an at-home bleaching will 1) turn your hair into straw, and 2) will not evenly lighten your hair, and I can't recommend it. I recommend that you find a salon that can do a professional color correction. Also, a professional dye job will last longer and have better, more natural results than the boxed products can give you.

I dont know of any kits or shampoo to recommend, but some of the dye will come out and it will ligthen up in a couple of weeks [or at least it should] It will lighten up a whole lot, but it will some.

It will get a little lighter but certainly not to the stage of dark blonde.
If you want to make it lighter - use Clayrol toner with level 10 (or level 20, if you're not afraid to burn it) developer. They don't come as a kit, you have to buy them separately in the same store.
If you used semi-permanent color - you're in trouble, go to a professional, don't do it yourself. Semi-permanets can be very tricky.

Do not put bleach on it. Either wait for it to fade ( may take 2 or 3 weeks depending on the brand) or go to a professional stylist and have it stripped.

DON'T TRY TO RE-DYE RIGHT AWAY.....UNLESS U SEE A PROFESSIONAL EXPERT.....YOU CAN MAKE YOUR HAIR GREEN OR EVEN BREAK OFF....BOTH HAPPENED TO ME......THE THING THAT WORKS FOR ME WHEN MY HAIR COMES OUT TOO DARK IS TO BUY BLEACHING CREME (THE ONE FOR THE HAIR ON YOUR ARMS OR LIPS WHERE U MIX THE POWDER) AND USE THAT TO STREAK HILITES IN HERE AND THERE........IT WORKS GREAT....IT'S CHEAP AND DOESN'T RUIN YOUR HAIR.....JUST DON'T LEAVE IT ON TOOOO LONG!!!

Bleach your hair white first before using dye.

You will get closer to the color of the dye.

it depends on whether it is permanent or what.. if its permanent -lasting up to 6 weeks.. then i think you should find a hairdressers.. if its non-permanent- up to 6 washes. then I'd just wash it tomorrow, the non-permanent washes only last about 3 washes anyways
