A soldier has volunteered to defend his country, but every citizen of a country has responsibilities to his country. In a free society like America, we have the responsibility to not only defend our country, but to vote, to support it, and to pray for it. It's a democracy, we must be involved in our country in order for it to work. A soldier has volunteered to defend it...an added task!

As above-everyone is responsible for the actions of there country, some countries more so then others. A military person has accepted the additional responsibility of defending the country and it's citizens so they are part of the group responsible for the preservation and continued existence of the country they fight for. They are not the only ones responsible, and do not think I have heard that here or anywhere, they just take additional responsibilities not accepted by other citizens.

You cant really say that. A Soldier, Airman, Sailor or Marine have all taken a extra share of responsibility to defend thier country. A person who volunteers around society also takes responsibility for his country. Not all people can join the military but everyone can give of thier time and talents to bertter society. I believe that all people should give time to some sort of civil service whether to the military or society in general.

People who served their country have shown a dedication and willing to sacrifice at a minimum a part of their time for their country and at the maximum give their life for their country. There are others then just Soldiers that do this, police, firemen, and rescue workers for example. Some of these people may have done it for a personal reason, such as college, but they decided that to get what they wanted, they would do it by sacrificing for the country. These peope actually take the responsibility upon themselves where others may pay it lip service.

First let me say to you do not listen to "Hoo" as he/she is a moron. Some of us acknowledge the fact that you have learned English as a second language and we find a great deal of admiration for you to that end. However, Hoo probably has not even mastered his native tongue.

To answer your question, I get the impression that you do not actually believe that yourself; am I correct? You already know that everyone can play a role in making his/her neighborhood, town, state, country the best that it can be. You do not have to be a soldier to do this. You must simply be a proactive and productive member of society and not merely a burden on it. Soldiers have sworn an oath to protect their country through force if necessary and they are trained, equipped, and ready to do so so that civilians are free and can strengthen their country through activism and work ethic.

Every member of this nation is responsible for the country. By voting, being an active voice, praying for, and sometimes disagreeing and being loud about it we decide the destiny of the country. Military members are the ones who decided to pickup a weapon and defend the nation and its people. Sacrificing their lives if needed. We always don't agree with why but we did it without question.

Everyone is responsible for their country. The military member just takes a more active role in that responsibility.

Only a soldier is not responsible for his country. Especially when he is fighting for it based on lies. The people who live in that country are responsible and when a mad man is running it, it is their responsibility to throw him out.
