Hi Lorie,

I would like to share my experience with you regarding your query on US visa.

1)First you need to accomplish some forms which you can get from the US embassy, then you need to schedule for an interview.
2) you need to show some proof that you have the capability to shoulder your trip expenses. You may need to show some bank account statements. (not just recent statements which you may have gotten by transferring your parents money into your account).
3) you need also to show some proof of employment indicating salary etc. Also you will need to show that you will return to Philippines on a specific time frame.
4) "Good paying job" in one's eye may not be a good paying job in other people's point of view.
5) You may have to show some land titles, properties, business ownership etc. This will show some proof that you will not be a "TNT". If you dont have any ownership, then the consul will think that therre is a change that you will never come back home.
6) Having visited other country or countries is not a guarantee that you will get your visa. Hongkong is the favorite country of most people in getting their passport stamped. This is because it is one of the nearest international port of entry and also has one of the cheapest fare. But this is already a "common" knowledge among consuls interviewers.

Good luck in your application.

No, you don't have to have other visa stamps in your passport for that. People say it helps slightly, but it's definitely not required. You will need to bring documents that prove that you have many reasons to return to your home country. Bring a letter from your employer stating where you work and that you're expected to continue to work there after you return. If you have close relatives (parents, siblins) that will stay in your home country you should mention it on your application.
