Okay I'm an expert in this :)

I have had my belly button pierced since I was11, I was really nervous, the man put the clamp on and pushed the needle through and I'm telling you the truth the clamp hurt more then the needle so out of 10 I would give it a 4 out of 10 for me, but we alll have different pain thresholds so maybe for you a 7 :)

Tell your mum its a hole going through MY anatomy and I think it wouild look cool, it's not permanent like a tattoo and I can take it out anytime I want to, I would reeaaally love it if you let me get it and I will show you my appreciation after it and my responsibility while I had it, she'll get all excited about the appreciation after it part! :)

Good Luck :)
Merry Christmas

I have those dreams all the time, hehe. Too bad for me they can't come true until I get a more piercing friendly job (the dreams are usually about facial piercings).

Pain differs from person to person, but Mine didn't hurt too badly at all. The few months after hurts worse because it can take a year to heal.

To persuade your mom.. be mature about it, tell her WHY you want it done (maybe tell her about your dream?) and not just because a friend has it. Explain to her what could happen if you don't take care of it, explain to her how to take care of it (why sea salt soaks are good and why peroxide and neosporin are bad)
If you're in the US no reputable piercer will pierce you until your 16, with parental consent anyways. So you do have a year to wait if your in the states.

All of my friends have theirs pierced, I don't because when you take the bar out, you re left with a hole in your belly, it looks nasty, so you should take that into consideration.

My friends have said it hurts more after you get it done, one of my friends feels weak whenever she changes her bars over.

But overall none of them regret it.

I'd say go for it, the pain won't last for ever.

As for convincing your mum, I don't know how old you are, some places you only have to be 16 without a parent.

But I would just hide it from my mum, until it was fully healed and everything, then once she sees it, you can tell her that if you take it out you are left with an ugly hole, so you might as well wear the bar since its prettier.

Your mum would probably accept it, and get over it fairly quickly, but then again she might be strict.

What ever you decide, goodluck =D

I got mine done over a year ago now and trust me, I am the biggest baby in the world but even I didn't think it hurt. I didn't look and didn't even feel her do it !

I persuaded my mum by telling her that I really wanted a piercing, and that it would be a good compromise to get my belly done as no one would be able to see it apart from me !

First decide what kind of piercing. Depending on your belly button some pierce on top and some lucky people can pierce the bottom. This way your charms aren't hanging over your belly button. Either way - I thought it would hurt and my daughter even cried while laying in the chair. He said "all done" and she felt like a fool, she didn't even feel it.

The way my daughter got us was....at least its not permanent like a tattoo.. I can always take it out and it will go away... tattoos cant.

Try It! Good Luck!

well it does hurt, i'm not going to lie, i have piercings on my ears and they hurt too. i don't find piercings not sore if u get what i mean.
i'm 15 too. and my mum forbid me to get it pierced so i went and got it done with a friend anyway. my mum was pretty angry but came round to the idea but i hate living with the guilt of doing something she didnt want me to do. the trust issue was also affected a little. that was a few months ago and now everything is back to normal. try showing ur mum u are really responsable and will try ur best to clean it every day. i really love my piercing :) good luck. x

I hurts a little after. You have to be careful not to push against it or get your clothing stuck in it when undressing. Also when you pull on it it hurts (until it heals all the way). I would ask my mom and if she said no and I really wanted it, I would just go get it anyways. There is nothing that she can do after it is done.

I don't know anything about actually getting it done, but I had an ex that had it... Make sure you think it through, cause hers got infected and left a pretty obvious scar. She wished she never got, so jus' make sure you're SURE before you try to convince your Mom to get it done.

Well, personally I wanted to get one, but I figured I don't show off my belly anyways, because I don't have a washboard tummy, so I ditched the idea.
I heard it can hurt.

First of all, it does hurt(its like a bad sting) and, tell her that people will like never see it but, if you like to wear belly shirts then i don't know what to tell you. Giving you lol(lots of love).
