He didn't really. The dead sea scrolls have a different perspective of what happened. the catholics just decided to leave it out of the bible. its nice to have someone to hate.
In the other accounts it was more of Jesus's plan. So he was doing the will of Jesus. It isn't backstabbing if he wanted him to do it. Supposedly he was Jesus's closest apostle.

Tricky ones for Christians. Presumably God let this happen, in fact Judas must have been part of the plan and so would have been rewarded for his actions.
The plan was for god to sacrifice his son (cause him lots of suffering) for the good of mankind. But as a son of god Jesus couldn't really die so it wasn't a true sacrifice.
By the way nowhere in the Bible does it say that Jesus died for our sins. (What does that mean, I can do what I want because Jesus paid the price for me?) The story of the crucifixion sounds like a man who had a plan (to purify the corrupt Jewish church) that went badly wrong and ended up dying.
The story of the resurrection, the missing body and so on seems like an attempt to give the story a positive spin after the event.
Many old legends indicate that the hero is not dead but simply gone away and will return in times of trouble. e.g. King Arthur etc.

Well that is one of the weak points in the whole christian myth. According to docterine god knew that Adam and Eve would eat the fruit, Cain would kill Able, the flood was a waste of humanity since Noah's children repopulated the earth with violent, sinful people and no need for JC's crucifixion. Aside from the fact that this loving, caring god is an accomplice to murder, a mass murderer (Premeditated) and he supposedly let his son go to slaughter knowing that there was no need to redeem "Man's sins (What about woman's) Being god all he had to do was say, in that thunderous voice from on high, "Those who believe in me are saved and the rest of you.... I am contemplated Hitler, Musolini, Tojo, aids, Ebola and unceasing war to punish good and bad alike. By the way, Stop bothering me with prayer - it is all planned already and I just don't want to bother changing the script. O, Yes, wait until you see what I am going to do with the Polar ice caps...(Assuming you desert dwellers even know they exist)"
By the way, does anyone remember that Judas identified JC to the romans who were sent to bring him to Pilot for interrogation. He knew it was a frame up and let the crowd choose who was going to get nailed. The big business boys running the temples (Centers of Jewish power and money laundering) fanned the crowd to get rid of this troublesome little Jewish boy. The moral is - Don't mess with big business, don't waste you time praying, the whole thing is one big joke anyway.

He didn't, Jesus knew it was coming. He gave bread to the one that would betray him (Judas). He said I chose the 12 disciples even though one is a Satan (Judas). So Jesus saw it was coming, but he knew it had to be done to fulfill the prophecies of the old testaments and save us all from our sins.

The only things that make sense seem like nonsense in my opinion. Like maybe Jesus knew but went through the actions anyway, even though that would be lying so it wouldn't make sense. God's knowing everything only seems to lead down a path of contradictions. Same with so much else.

God knew what would happen. However, in order for Jesus to fulfill his role as savior, he needed to conceal his God side and live life as a human. Therefore the actions of the world needed to play out infront of him without any interference.

cus Jesus knew he will not die on the cross cus he trust his god so much when he said [ King James ]-[ Jn:8:29 ]-[ And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him. ]
he challenged the Jews about his save [ King James ]-[ Jn:7:32 ]-[ The Pharisees heard that the people murmured such things concerning him; and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to take him. ] [ King James ]-[ Jn:7:33 ]-[ Then said Jesus unto them, Yet a little while am I with you, and then I go unto him that sent me. ] [ King James ]-[ Jn:7:34 ]-[ Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come. ]
cus he knew that [ King James ]-[ Heb:5:7 ]-[ Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; ]
so Jesus did not care about any backstabing

U have reached the right conclusion. It indicates your wisdome to appericate matters . If Jesus was knowingly falsely crucified for humanity, it was not crucification but crucifiction, an act of pretendness.surely,Jesus was a man and a prophet of God , not himself a God.It is a hard reality which a san, wise person can understand.

He didnt and did but as Jesus kept saying He must go to fulfill the prophecy and to do His Fathers will. It must come about. He had to die otherwise we couldnt get to heaven or back to the Father except through Jesus Christ. "As through one man adam all have fallen so also through one man Jesus all are constituted righteous." But as Vos a theologian said "If God could save man any other way then sending His only begotten Son, wouldnt you think He would. But rather only something so pure and perfect as Jesus could be a ransom for sinners so low as us."
This is what poeple need to learn is Gods everlasting love that never began or ever ends that He would send His only Son to die for us. His mercy is unfathommable.

Jesus clearly knew what was about to happen. He said as much in the last supper, before his arrest. He called out the apostles and said that one of them would betray him. It was all part of the plan.
