You need to buy some Frontline and use it on Your cat as the instructions state. You can get it for about 20 bucks at any Vet's office. It works way better than collars or baths. After You've done this I would also suggest that You use some type of Flea killing product on Your carpet and furniture, but leave the cat and any People outside (You could put the cat on your porch in a pet cage) while You are doing this.

Never mind about your feet, what about the poor cat?!
Get the poor thing some proper flea treatment - and I mean from a vets, not a pet store, Flea treatments from pet stores don't work, you need some Frontline or Advantage or Revolution. You may also need some spray for the house.
Once you've properly treated the cat and your house you will not get bitten any more either - though I hope your concern is more for your cat than for your feet.

Capstar coupled with Frontline. it works in a matter of minutes, you can see the cat freak out cuz the fleas on the cat are freaking out and then a dose or capstar again the next day will continue to kill the fleas that the intial one didnt. the Fronline is good for the 30 day cycle of protection but the capstar is 2.50 a pill at the vet and is amazing. i used to have my 2 indoor cats house sat for 30 minutes one to two times a week when i would travel via plane for work and they were kittnes so i wanted to insure they wouldnt freak out alone for 3 days without a human....BUT she was a professional and would track in fleaas from other clients. never failed. so if its nott out of control and an exterminator isnt needed then this should do it

I wonder why ppl here are unconcerned about flea biting us .. I'm sure he is fixing the problem for his cats.. but in the mean time he needs to be taken care too.
Autumn's answer above about eating garlic pill is good...Or you can try eucalyptus oil or other essential oils and apply it on your legs.

Take some garlic pill's.. the fleas don't like the taste of your skin, you should have that flea stuff that you spray. It's called easy off. They sell it at the drug store. When my kitty had fleas I gave him advantage for cats. But for temporary itching put alcohol and then some cortisone,or neosporine. It helps the itching. It suck I know hang in their !

Has your cat got a flea collar it's always good to have one. As for you it wont go away until you do something about it.
But you should avoid material furnishings.
