Islamicists will tell you that Jesus was not crucifed, indeed He didn't die.And if you wanted to find out about the crusades;archeology is banned. If you wanted history for laughs you might want to try Muammar Qaddafi,he claims that Shakespeare was an Arab; his real name was Sheikh Pia.
Atheist on the other hand know a lot about history of the Church, they seem to know about the flat earth history , the Galilleo affair and the Spanish inquistion although the Church has admitted mistakes. They can swear that Jesus never existed but Mohammed did.Strangely they do not know much about Soviet history and do not believe that Darwin influenced Stalin,Mao or the other homicidal maniacs.

I know a lot of history, period. I *am* a history major. I know religious, linguistic, American, African, European, Asian, and Soviet history, no matter how much you'd like to think I don't. Stop making sweeping generalizations: I think that Jesus was a real guy, just not all what he's cracked up to be.
Oh, and Darwin *didn't* influence Stalin. He liked Lamarckian Evolution, and actually purged many Darwinian biologists to the gulags. Looks like somebody needs to learn a bit more about history.
[added details] Well, I'm not sure how anyone would "learn anything from not," as you put it. I don't even know what you're trying to say.

I would not learn history from Holocaust-denying Muslims. However, I would not feel any better learning history from someone who thinks that the Earth is less than 10000 years old, and that there was a massive flood 4000 years ago that wiped out the entire human population (except for 8 people).

I don't know if Muhammad existed or not. Also, I apologize for not being an expert in Russian history.
I do not deny that Stalin and Mao may have been influenced by science, but I do say that they were insane for thinking that just because we know the world works a certain way that we should follow it's lead. I mean, we know that gravity keeps us held down to the ground, does that mean that we shouldn't have made airplanes?

I would learn history from a historian regardless of religion or lack of it. Flat earth history I have been told was just made up 'tout le mound' suggest a 3d structure rather than flat and I think I've heard Darwin phrase 'survival of the fittest' had been twisted.

I would rather learn anything from an atheist than a biased unprofessional view of someone blind sided by religion and you seem to be a far right christian with your anti commie approach, now I aint a communist nor am I a far right christian but I am a left wing Englishman and pro unionist...All religions are based on myth and perpetuated as the truth by extremists who seek to gain dominion of this planet...never gonna happen.....

I would hope that, if it were a public school, the history teacher would teach what the state deemed proper to teach, since religion should not be in a history class at a public school. Other than that, if it was a private school (religious affiliation inserted here), than they could determine what was to be taught.
Keep religion out of public schools and life will be simple.

I think I would take an honest Muslim. At least they aren't as obsessed with their agenda. Once you filter out the Arab bias it would be alright, just hope they don't get hung up on Israel bashing. My history was always taught by liberals, so all I heard was how bad whitey was to the slaves and Indians. So I'm used to the biased viewpoint.
The Muslim would understand if you werent very interested in the crazy billions and billions of years ago speculation too.

That is an interesting question, when you word it the way you have. I would much rather learn history from an atheist. I have been taught history by atheists in the past and I have never had a teddy bear incident, if you know what I mean.
