You guys just don’t seem to be doing enough. I mean, I quite often get emails from Christians assuring me that they are not like the dreaded ‘fundies’ but then that’s it; that seems to be your only attempt at alleviating the problem – by distancing yourselves from it and hoping it will go away. Well that’s not good enough! Is it asking too much if you guys would put in a little more effort towards ridding our great nation form this terrible affliction of Christian fundamentalism?

This question would be much better directed towards muslims.

yes, extreme christian fundies are annoying, but being annoying is not a crime.

At least they don't blow themselves up in crowded market places, fly planes into buildings and force women to wear burqas while raping and beating their wives as condoned by the holy quran. Christian fundies don't execute people for denouncing christianity, they don't march in the streets by the thousands demanding death of someone who might name a teddy bear "Jesus", they don't cause worldwide rioting and pandemonium when people draw insulting cartoons of Jesus

"You guys don't seem to be doing enough." Well, let's see if you agree with that attitude across the spectrum. Would you tell blacks that "you guys don't seem to be doing enough about the violence among you," or Hispanics, "you guys don't seem to be doing enough about unwed parenting," or tell Muslims, "you guys don't seem to be doing enough to reduce terrorism." Well, at least that last one is a valid criticism.

Hey, if you won't criticize these other groups, what right do you have to stereotype Christians? If I see a double standard, that's good enough for me to judge you and throw your argument on the trash heap.

A longstanding question is, how could the German people have done what they did to the Jews? The answer is that they needed someone to vilify in order to not take responsibility for the consequences of their own actions in the previous war. All they needed was a charismatic leader to tell them that it was alright to do so.

So who's your leader? Come clean, you didn't invent this attitude on your own in a vacuum. 'Fess up. Somebody has presented this to you in a simplistic manner and you swallowed it, hook, line and sinker. Do you honestly think that ALL Christians are responsible for the attitudes of a few? Do you think ALL Christians believe in creationism, creation science, intelligent creation, whatever they call it? It does explain one thing that you cannot deny--how else was a cat created just the perfect size to curl up inside a grocery bag? That's a joke, by the way.

I am more concerned about the emergent church. They are causing more harm than any or all the fundies put together. I may be labeled a fundie, I just believe what the bible says, whether I understand everything or not.

I dont particularly like the Phelps brand of Christianity either. Each preacher is responsible for their congregation. That is their responsibility.

We have been warned about the wolves, it is up to each of us not to get entangled with the wolves by being in the word and knowing what the bible does say.

You seem to be the only human here who has a huge problem with it.

Is it asking too much of you to show some courtesy and resepct for others who don't believe as you do? I rarely see you do anything but tell us what you feel we are doing wrong.
Can you never say anything kind?

Fizzle's answer was great. What about atheists doing something to weed out the militants such as yourself who do nothing but spread hate? That sounds like a great idea to me.

Iam pretty sure that was a judgement ? It also sounded like words from a fanatic. It really is true that the world is unfair and that is what makes it fair. Insults keep problems circuleing. Embrace what you dont undrstand and it might actully be you that comes with the best answer.

I'll be keeping an eye out on this one as it's a very interesting topic! I honestly never thought about it, but I guess everyone's entitled to their opinions and freedom of speech. On the flip side I believe in being socially responsible.

I do at times but you just can't get rid of it all. That's life. I just disregard the idiocies that surround me and I just move on. I just thank GOD for giving me the will power to conquer all the wrong doings that surround me and just pray for those that have difficult times in making the necessary adjustments in their lives. Sometimes I too lose myself when I get too caught up within my own life but I try to stay within my own boundaries in what's wrong and what's right. I just can't tell people what to do for that's in GOD's powers to do so. Like I said, I just ignore the wrong and move on. I don't dwell on other people's problems for I have my own.

God's Mother Mary said :"One cannot truly believe, be a Christian,if he does not respect other religions as well. You do not really believe in God if you make fun of other religions. My responsibilities are with Mary, not you. Mary wants us to pray for the conversion of the world. This is the main priority.

I do not expect you to believe or understand what i have just written. Most Christians will deny this also.
