Do you still believe in true love?

and please state how old you are.

I am 40 and still believe I am in true love with a woman who over the past 2 years has broke my heart 3 times and yet through all this we are still best friends and I still love her with every fiber of my being.

I will be 19 in a few months, and I have been with my boyfriend for three years. We haven't even had sex, and don't plan to until we're married, and we are both willing to wait the 3 years till we graduate from college to get married. In fact, we'd be married now if it weren't for the fact that our parents would flip out. So, yes, I do still believe in true love.

In response to what A55H0L3 (yes, that's his Yahoo ID) said, yes. Marriage is hard work, as are all relationships. It takes lots of work to sustain a good relationship. But it's your willingness to work for your partner's happiness that shows just how true your love is. Nothing in life that is worth having is easy, and that includes love. My boyfriend and I drive each other crazy some days, and sometimes we fight. That doesn't mean we don't love each other. It just means that we have things as a couple that we need to work on. And there will always be rough patches. But that's okay. Because our love is strong enough that we can pull through all the hard times and have lots of good times.

Back to your situation, though. This woman has hurt you. A lot. Forgive the Shakespeare reference here, but you're a bit like Helena in A Midsummer Night's Dream. She talks about how she is a cocker spaniel. The more her love beats her and breaks her heart, the more she will follow him to try to earn his love. Doesn't mean you're love is any less true. It only makes it more true. The fact that you are still willing to work around the heartache to try to make it work. The fact that you two are best friends also helps. I know that my boyfriend is also one of my best friends, which add a lot of strength to our relationship.

I'm only 24. I've been married a little under two years been in Iraq for 15 months and I love my wife more then anything. True love though? Don't think so. We work hard at making each other happy and keeping everything working smoothing. A little bit of wisdom to drink down, it's hard to love someone that kisses your ***. If she's broke your heart 3 times she knows she can go back to you as a fail safe system. Not a lot of people hook up over 40...sorry it's true. I might be young so don't discredit my advice b/c I'm barely starting a life beyond school and my parents houses. Age just means you've been dumber or smarter then those younger then you for a longer period of time.

i am 17 and i have found true love. i have been with this person almost a year now and everytime i look at him or something that he likes/something that reminds me of him--im reminded that their is TRUE LOVE. i do and dont want to tell you this....but i dont think your in true love. atleast she doesent feel like its true love and isnt on the same page as you are. she would NEVER break your heart if it were true love. 40 is YOUNG and you can find true love. loose her!!!
