my stupid ex-boyfriend who i am kind of dating but not really told me the reason that his cell was off all weekend in devil's head was because he got no service on the mountain. this may be true. anyone ever got bad cell reception at Devil's head resort in Wi, or bad cell phone service while skiing?

ok, so i must add that devil's head is not what i would personally consider to be a mountain, it is a cheesey midwesterner's version of one in Wisconson, but its pretty lame compared to every place out west and in Canada that i've been. So does "mountain"/hill size matter?

Devils head is notorious for nasty reception. and not just on the slopes. Your bf was telling you the truth and bad on you for thinking those nasty thoughts.

It depends. Personally, I shut my phone off on ski trips as well. I'm there to ski, not be hassled by phone calls from co-dependent significant others. It's also a bee-otch to try to text when you are wearing ski gloves.

Most ski areas have GSM cell phone towers. If he has Verizon (which doesn't use GSM) he very well might not have had any reception.

Nothing pisses me off more than to have to ride up a chairlift with some lameass who has a Bluetooth stuck in his ear.

Yup, lived by mammoth and would go skining quite frequently. Cell service sucked up there I would be lucky if I could even get a text out. Also went to a few places in tahoe and the service was even worse there.
