Because of the striations in the skin with stretch marks, if you tattoo with a solid color, the stretch marks can still show. If the stretch marks have an additional color problem, i.e., white stretch marks for instance, the tattoo can do well to cover them.

For the best possible result, pick something that is fairly "busy" in pattern and color - you will have a very good chance of the stretch marks being covered up very well.

Also, just the action of the needles in the skin can cause the stretch marks to flatten out some.

I personally think you shouldn't get a tat 'cause it looks cool, you should get it 'cause it means something to you. If you just get it for the look, you'll regret it later. If you get it 'cause it has a special meaning for you, you'll always cherish it.

Think it would be easier and cheaper and have them lazered off. :)

And I think it would hurt alot having a tatoo over stretchmarks!
