Being Christian doesn't automatically make you a good person, much for the same reason that being rational doesn't make you a bad person.
If you want real truth, you'll have to find it on your own.
Everything GIVEN to you can expected to be propaganda, or what OTHERS want you to believe. That goes for pretty much any religion or nationalist ideal, and yes, that includes Christianity.
Please people, for you own sakes, start thinking for yourselves. Don't adopt such a narrow perspective of God and goodness simply because it seems acceptable. I don't think we should EVER be satisfied in the search for real truth.
I believe that the day we stop asking questions of authority is the day we stop respecting it. How can that possibly be in God's great plan?
If he's truly wise, he recognizes the wisdom found in questioning authority.
Religion has very little to do with God and very much to do with the church. Think about that. The Christian Church has been wrong before, like when they claimed the Earth was the center of the universe and gravity was simply a result of everything being pulled towards the center of the universe.
They also used to think that the Sun revolved around the Earth and that everything else circled us simply because we don't percieve the motion of the Earth physically. Religious thinking is based on how we can explain everything else according to the rules we've defined through science at the time.
Evolution is the most recent disturbance of Biblical history. As much as you try to drag your feet, you can't refute the existance of transitional fossils. Evolution DID happen.
So maybe it's time to convert the idea of Adam and Eve into a symbolic meaning.
How willing are you Christians to stretch before you realise that you're not following truth anymore?
My opinion is that if something violates Truth (science), it violates God. Truth is something that stands self-evident in fact held by proof. Faith should be put in that.
I fear for all of those who's moral decisions are being made for them, because it's quite obvious what some people will do just to be on "God's side". Whatever that means.
In my intuitive mind, God is on all of our sides, we're only making enemies out of each other.
The only reason Christians think that they're different from any other religion is the same reason any religion thinks it's different from any other religion, but just like every other religion, it preaches itself to be true and righteous.
I'm barely even agnostic and I hold these truths to be self-evident.
I'm obviously quite far from being Christian but I have nothing but the greatest respect and admiration for women. Nearly to the point of being terrified of them, but not quite.
Seriously, you think that being Christian makes you morally, emotionally or conceptually different from anybody who's not? Think again. I know that what I know isn't perfect. Life isn't supposed to be.
I guess my point is that God can't hold it against us for being who we are. I don't care HOW vile the punishment for not believing may be. It can't be as bad as causing evil through willful ignorance.
I believe that evil only happens in the shade of ignorance. I only pray that people become more reasonable and understanding rather than dividing themselves by their beliefs.

I'm a Christian and a guy as well, but I think that each and every person has different standards. I don't think being a Christian always dictates a guy's behavior these days. There are some extremely disciplined and conservative Christian guys, but many of the practicing Christians I knew would swear and act tough as well. There really isn't much difference between Christians and non-Christians. Still, I believe that both Christians and non-Christians are loving people that live in a fast-paced society.

Depends on the guy. Some Christian guys are NOT any different than non-Christian guys. Some are. For that matter, some non-Christian guys have the same standards as they stereotypical Christian guy. Figuring out a guy's standards just isn't as simple as what religion he is.

No, most Christians don't really know what it means to be a Christian.
There are more Christians guys having sex before marriage than there are atheists having sex before marriage. Maybe not statistically, but in actual numbers there are. Probably just because the world population is filled with 33 percent Christian and only 6 percent atheist.

they should... not all of us do....... personally, i dont think i've done a very good job of it. for alot of guys, Christian or otherwise, love is a three letter word spelled S-E-X... but a Christian guy's perspective should be "Love is patient, love is kind, it is not self seeking, it does not boast, it endures all things, it forgives all things, it is always trusting..." that's a paraphrase- if you want the exact verse email me and i'll get it for you. obviously no one can be all those things all the time, but in general that's what a christian's perspective on love SHOULD be. a non-christian guy isnt expected to have that perspective because its not part of his faith.

It's really an individual by individual basis. with love there are guys that 'love god' but are going to want to hit it right away, while some non-religious guys with higher standards that respect women more from a different standpoint.
It's frustrating to me because my parents push for me to look for a guy at church (i'm single) but I don't feel like it makes one bit of difference, you can meet decent guys anywhere, and you can meet jackasses anywhere.

I think Christian guys should have more respect for women they are dating. They shouldn't try to "hit it and quit it."
