This is very common, much more common than you think. Sadly, virgins don't brag as much as the studs, and would rather keep quiet and hope that nobody will find out.
You should be out and proud - and for goodness sake, stay in your own kind of environment, people who are more like you. People with whom you can be honest about yourself and not be judged. Obviously you are a deep, sensitive soul, and holding out for that special someone, otherwise you would have pinned down the first thing that moved back in your teens. Good luck, be out and be proud.

I think it's a good idea. Even better is to hire two or three over a few days, to get more experience. I once heard of a movie in which Jack Nicholson played a man who took his 17 year old son to a brothel to lose his virginity. After, they are having a quiet beer, and the young man pipes up: "I think she liked me." Jack Nicholson says: "Welcome to adult Disneyland, son." The fact is women are difficult to get into bed, simple as that. Why? Because they are programmed by nature and culture to require valuable consideration from the male before they will agree to sex. That's why women don't marry bums on park benches. The valuable consideration can be in terms of time, money, service, promises, commitment, goods, or money, but it's always involved. It usually involves *hours* of talktalktalktalktalk and at the end of that, you still don't have sex, at best only another opportunity to meet again. It's a complete drag but that's how women like it. It's not your fault. The great advantage of paying is that all that dreadful rigmarole, waste of time, uncertainty and risk of rejection is behind you, and you start out with a good-looking woman who has already agreed. After that it's easy. There is no reason why it needs to be an impersonal experience. A lot of men treat prostitutes in an impersonal or arrogant way, so of course they have an impersonal experience. But it is natural to respond favourably if someone treats you nicely. So you must treat her in a kind, personable, friendly, good-humoured, generous way, and you will most probably have a pleasant, relaxing, exciting experience. Do not get a woman who is doing drugs or who has a harsh look on her face. Reject her and keep looking. There are millions of good-looking, decent, sexy women in the world who would be glad to have sex with you in exchange for a bit of money. Disregard the sex-hating bigotry of the Christians.

I know you asked for a woman's opinion, but I'll give you my take as a guy.
I was 28 when I met my wife to be. She was going through a divorce and had no problem with my being a virgin. We were married for 27 years, together for 29, before she died in 2005.
BTW, I have no idea how I found this question after this long.

I thought it was wonderful. My fiance was a 23yr old virgin. And to be perfectly open and honest I'll admit that I wouldn't have started dating him if he hadn't been one because I'm younger then he is and because I was still a virgin. I think most women, who don't sleep around themselves, would prefer a guy who hasn't experienced other women like that or that they don't have to worry about having every STD there is.
Good luck and don't be afraid to be proud of it.
EDIT: Don't listen to the guy below me. That person is crazy and obviously a little bit of a man whore(yes I do call men who sleep around names just like everyone else does for women) himself.

I think it's cool, definitely refreshing to see because you hear about things like 12 year olds having sex, and I think it's commendable for holding out for this long.

women are never willing to be a teacher , they always want to be a student. And want their guys to be experienced. But then when they complain about "why are girls called names when they sleep around and guys aren't?" well that's their own fault , men would prefer a girl to be a virgin , or have few partners. Women prefer their men to be experienced for some reason?
P.S the first time you decide to go for it , dont let the girl know your a virgin , Just do what you see in the porn movies and be confident , they wont have a clue as long as you are confident. ITs sex it comes naturally dont let the media and stupid girls make it seem like such a big deal. Its the funnest and easiest thing you can possibly do , so dont sweat it.

The yellow pages offer services to help you with this issue.
Virginity is over rated. Ask how many marriages last with out cheating for those who saved themselves for the one they married? What happened? They felt like they had missed out and wondered what it was like to be with someone else.
Whatever, Holy Virgin Rollers.
