If God is all knowing, he knew Satan would rebel, or knew of the danger with his ambitious character. He made him the beautiful and most powerful cherub, for a reason.
God predicts he will lose, and that also he will try and prevent Christs birth in Revelations, then into the fire he goes. If Satan is an angel, no doubt intelligent, he would know he cannot stop Christ, and he wouldn't even do the invasion of Earth to begin with, knowing in the end it will help Earth. To invade anyway knowing he is part of a divine plan, would be doing Gods work! Do they need Satan to destroy and play bad guy so you can wrap your hands around Jesus? After all, a good slave is one that gives in by free will.
Even God cannot ultimately predict what Satan will do, if he has free will. So obviously, the 2 cannot go hand in hand, unless Satan is forced to do what he does, or he was SOLELY made for the purpose to be an enemy, and then burn in a fire pit for ever and ever. Talk about a shitty destiny.

My Conclusion is, God and Satan, work together.
If anything, and if the Bible is true to what it says, this is Spiritual evolution, and Satan is the counter, or the change, to the base (the human soul) and takes with him the unwanted human souls.

Sam, then, God wanted, or agreed to the the fate of humanity, and wanted you in a since, to eat from the apple of the knowledge of Good and evil. But, WE had a CHOICE. Free will no, but we have choices, Satan must have conscious, or thought, to say, "its not worth it" Yea, some "great divine plan", what if Adam said "no" or, they just ate from the Tree of Life, since we supposedly had a choice. Satan has a choice, he must, or hes not a being, or hes a slave, a dog, bidding for his abusive master. The bottomless pit, his home, and probably, always has been. Humanity, sometimes his doggy bone.

Very good question..
since you asked a good question you desurve a good answer..
I will spend some time on this one and answer each part of your question. I too had this question when i was young during a conversation with some dear friends of mine regarding satan and the Bible.. I had studied this for quite some time and this is my conclusions..
SO PLEASE READ MY ENTIRE ANSWER AND NOT SKIP IT DUE TO ITS LENGTH.. I PRAY THAT YOU WILL BE OPEN MINDED AND THINK THREW THIS ONE WITH ME.. the bible says "LET US REASON TOGETHER" and so lets reason..
you wrote: How can Satan be an enemy when he's powerless to God?
If God is all knowing, he knew Satan would rebel, or knew of the danger with his ambitious character. He made him the beautiful and most powerful cherub, for a reason.
1. Possessing or not possessing power does not effect rather or not you are an enemy. You can be with out power and still be an enemy.
2. God (Jesus) knew Judas would rebel also however, the rebellion only completed the bigger(more sovereign) plan. Judas deceived himself and yet he had the chance to come back and ask forgiveness he chose to hang himself.
3. satan has no excuse he was there at the beginning and saw everything. Blessed are those who believe and HAVE NOT SEEN..
please keep reading i will get to my point concerning your question.. lol..
you then wrote:
God predicts he will lose,(regarding satan) and that also he will try and prevent Christs birth in Revelations, then into the fire he goes. If Satan is an angel, no doubt intelligent, he would know he cannot stop Christ, and he wouldn't even do the invasion of Earth to begin with, knowing in the end it will help Earth. After all, a good slave is one that gives in by free will.
WHY DOESN'T SATAN JUST REPENT?..
first--the logic.. the above interpretation of events "Satan is a slave.. Satan wants to go to hell for eternity to please God who wills that non should perish. Satan wants to give up his fredom for the sake of the whole. God NEEDS satan in order to be sovereign. to be DIVINE he needs a BAD GUY."
the refute: satan has free will, the opposite of a slave. In the mind of the "BAD GUY" is that they are the hero--not the BAD GUY. The satan of the Bible wants to set his throne above God's and DOES NOT want to go to hell for eternity. If God is sovereign as the Bible tells us then God DOES NOT need a bad guy or anything else for that matter he is sovereign.
my answer to this section: Satan is intelligent, that is why he thinks he can set his throne above the most high.. picture if you will a Lawyer trying to create loop wholes in the Law--that is exactly what satan wants to do.. satan can not defeat God on a level playing field so he thinks he is smart enough to use Gods own law for a trap. It is the sin of Pride that cost satan his position with the angels. God is Just and will Judge satan according to his laws.
*Important: Remember satan is not sovereign, he does not know the beginning from the end. Remember satan is not all knowing, we do not know what he knows.. no doubt he may know the bible better than us which may be the reason for his pride.. He might even use scripture to get out of the whole he dug himself into.. or he may not even believe the end chapter.. satan may think he can rewrite the last chapter of the Bible and make himself the coming messiah.
*Also Important: God knew the beginning from the end--God set us into motion however, God also chose to let us do what we want.. God can change things here and there in order to complete his final plan but we have the choice to go along or fight. satan chose to fight just as so many other people. There are educated pastors who lost their faith just as satan did(and even those who seen Jesus and his resurrection still showed disbelief) and they cursed Jesus on their death beds.. blessed are those who believe and have not seen--Thomas doubted Jesus even after he saw the resurrection--Thomas saw Jesus walking and talking yet he did not believe until he put his fingers inside the wholes.. satan also has seen yet he chooses to be diluted.. thats choice despite his intelligence..
1. you can be really smart yet be blind and stupid. intelligence only has a small part in decision making there are other factors that play--Just because you are intelligent does not mean your choices will be good ones..
2. Judas did "Gods work" by fulfilling prophecy--yet Judas still had his own choice--If it were someone else then God would have allowed it and the prophecy would follow suit. Still in the end God is victorious. God gives us every chance--we stand with out excuse just as satan does.. God gave satan every chance for God is Just.. satan chose his path as well as it fits with Gods plan.. there is no problem with either both are reasonable. they complement each other. God can use his creation for the outcome of his plan.. there is nothing wrong with that and its perfectly and morally reasonable.

your view: God can not look into the future. God is not really sovereign. God can not base his plans upon the future actions of others. satan. Who chose first us or God--it cant be both. God created us but can not use us for his plan because we have a free will.
ok now my view: I think that God is sovereign. The bible says that God can predict what satan can do "God sees the end from the beginning."--"God is the alpha and the omega the beginning and the end" satan can not know his fate for satan is not God. You can do anything you want yet God will use it for his purpose--thats what it means to be sovereign. satan chose his place in the fire pit. satan stands with out excuse he made his choice.. Just like you know the rules yet deliberately disobey based upon your faulty logic.. the same logic that is in the question..
LETS CONTINUE SHALL WE? small break though.. k im back..

God and satan does not work together.. this is contridictory to what the Bible teaches and is an insult to our faith.
God hates sin.
satan and his followers have a book that is opposite that of the bible--the church of satan teaches that Lucifer owns the knowledge of good and evil and it was eloheim(the God of the north--or creator) who did not want us to have it. satan actually believes his own lies. he makes loop wholes in biblical writings and then believes them. satan has diluted himself and all those who believe him..
This is only ONE of MANY lies that satan has used to trick people into NOT believing in a God..
I am sorry sir that you have fallen prey to this.. I encourage you to look deeper into the truth and realize this for yourself.

Humanity, sometimes his doggy bone.
*IMPORTANT: also remember Gods time is not our time.. God made time and he is outside of his creation..
I think that God did not enjoy watching Adam eat of the fruit. I think that it was Love that kept God from interfering with Adams Choice. God lets us do what we want--in the same respect God can do what he wants. Free will is allowing us to chose what we want. We can have the freedom to make our own choice. You do not know if angels have a conscious or not but given they do, satans nature is not your nature--so you do not know what is going on in satan's head. maybe in satans mind he is God--which would make sense based upon what he wrote. If Adam said "No" then good maybe things would be different.. God lets time move on its own--then based upon what he knows about the future he changes a little here and there rightfully so since he is the creator.
God can use our discisions for his plan--no problem with that.. he is God.. He created all things.. he has the right to use our decisions for his plan.
Let me ask you sir: Did you(or your mother) choose your meal yesterday? or your clothes.. When you took your exams in school was it you who answered the questions? or did God take the test for you.. Did God make your cereal and let you eat it? Did God pick out your clothes and say "ok Robot, here is your work list today accomplish it before 12 noon.."
God lets us do what we want
God can use your decisions for the ultimate plan in the future since he can see what you choose before you chose it and create the desired outcome like he did with Judas.
I think you are looking at the whole thing from a different view and need to change your glasses..
satan is not a dog--he thinks he can overthrow God. He things he can use events to bring about his desired outcome. He thinks he can use Law to overthrow God--since God can not go against his own laws and decrees. satan thinks he is already god(lower case) and his followers think the same thing as he does "that he will ascend to the sides of the North and set his throne above the most high" he has deceived himself..
satan thinks he can get away with it..
We believe that God does not force his plan on us--we choose to participate in his plan or not too.. the wonderful thing is that in the end God still wins.. Gods sovereignty effects our choice in no way--God uses our choice to effect his plan.
thank you

God allows Satan to be Satan, to serve the purpose of being the enemy of humans (that's why God never told Adam & Eve about Satan's existence in Eden), and Satan has to get God's permission prior to "testing" us humans (read about it in the book of Job, in the Old Testament). Satan could accept the sacrifice of Christ for sin but he refuses. Satan has decided that he doesn't need God and is god ! Everything is / was formulated into a grand plan prior, to the creation of man. In the very end, the human creation will be victorious over Satan and even, death because of Jesus Christ. If there was no Satan, we humans still have human nature and need to see our need for a relationship with our Creator. God allows us to have free reign over our lives - even, to the point of blowing -up the world ... if He didn't intervene to stop us. Up to that point, we have to come to see the NEED for God ... that is why there is a world of pain and suffering ! It is all part of the overall plan, for our eventual good. We have to want it, first.

Satan does not have free will. He is a fallen angel, and angels did not have free will, which was only granted to humans.
Satan did not chose to love God above anything else, and did not chose to have a real feeling of fairness and justice. Those things were given to him by God. So when humans were created and given grace above the angels even though they were far inferior, he (and all other angels) were torn up inside by conflict. He just happens to have been the strongest or first to decide that his sense of justice and fairness superseded his love for God.
God did not have to do anything to cast him in Hell for that, since Satan's own heart would eternally torment him over that decision. Other angels had to give up on their sense of justice and fairness in order to stay with God. They too must be unhappy.
God's muddled messages to his creations keep tripping him and them up. He may be all-knowing and all-powerfull, but he is still learning on the job.

God is all knowing but he rarely uses his powers of foresight as you see in many bible accounts not onlt with adam and eve but with Cain and abel ,revelation is a time he did to help forewarn people what was to come.
Satan did not have an invasion of earth he was kicked out of heaven and thrown to earth.-Not his choice
. Satan's ultimate goal was not just to stop Jesus but to make humanity follow him instead of God. He is going down so he is taking as many people as possible
Satan did not ever question God's power he was challenging God's way of rulling. A difference
And God can know what satan will do without forcing him because he does have the power of foresight and his is not like ours it is not limited by circumstance and what not.
Satan will not burn forever and ever but he will be destroyed.
Why would God need to punish him by burning him forever what would that solve.

No where in my Bible does it say we have free will. Look at what happened to Saul a.k.a. Paul. I don't think that was free will. There are other examples of the truth. God gives Satan the authority he has and allows or doesn't allow him to do what he does. Read Job for a good example. There is a conversation between God and Satan recorded there. Satan accuses God's people to God trying to get God to let him (Satan) turn us from God.

Wow,
This is a good question. God is all knowing, and so yes he did indeed know that eventually he would have to boot Satan out of heaven. He created "hell" as a place for Satan and the other 1/3 of the fallen angels to eventually go as punishment. Satan has the power to tempt us, to decieve us, and to get as many of us to share his fate as he can. He suceeded in getting Adam and Eve to sin against God. They did not have inability to sin, they had ability not to sin, they had a choice, they chose to sin. The consequences of their actions were physical and spiritual death, which is seperation from God. God could have prevented evil from entering our world but if he would have, we would not have the image of God, and we would not have freedom of choice. We would be like robots or puppets.
Satan and the other angles were created with this freedom of choice, as are all of Gods creations. God does not force anyone to do anything. God wants people to choose to love Him for who He is and what He has done.

It is the struggle of well v evil. God does seem to have one small predicament. Since he's all over whilst, he'll be in hell together with Satan. I believe he demands to be there simply to make certain Satan is not getting as much as any mischief.

Gos is sovereign, He knows everything and sees the future. And He always wants good future for us. The Bible says that every good gift comes from God. The Bible doesn't say that He brings destruction to us, He said He loves us and always want whats good for us even though it will cost His Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for our sins. With that, I can say that God wanted even Lucifer to not become satan...but God has given us free will even the angels are given free will. God doesn't decide for us, we decide for our ownselves..even Lucifer who became satan decides for himself. It was lucifer who chose to become satan and not God. Let me say again that God intends only good for all even the unbelievers that's why God made a way to reach down to sinners and that is through Jesus death on the cross as a lamb offering.
God is sovereign but has given us free will and you also agree with that since you corrected Sam that God has given us free will. Everything we do comes with a decision. We decide if we sin or not. We decide if we accept Jesus or reject Him. Our future depends on our decisions. We decide where our destiny will be. Same is true with Lucifer, he chose to become satan and become enemy of God. Its not about being powerful that satan is God's enemy but its because satan chose to be Gods enemy. God didn't create lucifer to become his enemy and give balance to good and evil in the world. Instead lucifer chose to become Gods enemy. I believe God loves Lucifer but lucifer drifted away from God, he rebelled against God and he chose his destiny.
Satan become enemy with God not because of powers though satan has powers but he has limited powers, he is not all-knowing and all present like God. Satan became an enemy because he rebelled against God. It is not Gods plan that Lucifer become satan. God is a very loving and merciful God, even though satan rebelled against God and led Adam and Eve to sin against God, He still made way for us to be reconciled to Him. God always has good intentions for us. We just have to decide if we accept Jesus or reject Him. Your destiny is in your hands... I pray this would open your mind to the truth. God bless you...

nice theory but you need to take it all before you draw conclusions. you need to be a major in philosophy,in theology, and biblical scholar. i am not one but from what i do know you are being too selective and your intention is quite clear.
