Grand theft is stealing something worth alot of money, I don't think stealing 130 bucks worth of stuff is considered grand theft, I know stealing a car is...but most are worth more then 130 dollars!

What does your state or country define in law as grand theft- look it up. If you stated what state or country you are in someone might be able to give you a correct answer. Also age of minor, previous record, stuff stolen? If a 'minor' over 15 stole a RG24 revolver in a restrictive purchase state and had a previous record of theft or gang affiliation he will probably go to jail. If a 12 year old stole some pairs of fancy shoes and doesn't have a previous record he'll get cussed out by court and told watch-it because we'll watch you for next year. If you did the crime and don't know what state calls grand theft - you should go to jail for at least a week to learn something.

The traditional distinction is petty theft vs. grand theft. Each state decides for itself where the dollar value separates the two, and it changes over the years. It could be as low as $100, based on what I've seen over the years, but $1,000 is certainly possible. I doubt $130 will make it anymore.

i think grand theft is over $1000. if it's ur first time then you'll probably get probation, second time and you'll probably go to juvenile detention.
