Don't quit, as others have mentioned there could be a severance. The best thing you can do for you and your job's future (as well as references if needed) is just crank your productivity up and be an excellent worker for the next month--on time, friendly, self-starter, etc. I think you will find this behavior infectious, and they just may not want to let you go.

Don't "jump ship." But if the writing is on the wall, you would do well to update your resume and start sending it out and talk to people you know (start networking). There's no sense in quitting without something good lined up to replace it. For one thing, if you wait and the layoff does come, there's a chance you'll get severance and unemployment, whereas if you quit and don't get another job right away, the burden of proof is on you to prove you left "with good cause in connection with the worK", and I doubt that fear of possible layoff would fit that criteria.

Start on your resume, post it to HotJobs, Monster, and ...
Start sending out resumes.
If you get laid off, you will get unemployment. Unemployment may put you through training. You may get a severence package.
If you quit, you get NOTHING.

Not if you like the job. Just maybe you won't get laid off. I'd wait.
