No offence but don't pay any attention to these guys.
A ski actually turns itself when you turn it on edge and put pressure on it. Transfer your weight to your up hill ski and roll your ankle and knee to get the ski on edge. As the ski flexes your turn will commence and as you pass through the fall line your down hill ski is unweighted and lifted. you step into the turn with your down hill ski and the rear of the ski is brought around to parallel your turning ski. As soon as you pass through the fall line your other ski becomes your uphill ski and you start the process all over. So weight your up hill ski and unweight your down hill ski and step into the turn. At first you won't be truly parallel but with practice the turn smooths out and looks and feels the way you want it to!
to practice, try turning on just your uphill ski and keep all weight off the downhill ski. It will come. Don't worry.

I had a ski instructor tell me to imagine that I had headlights on my knees, and that I should try to point them where I want to go. I pictured it in my mind, and was able to do it immediately. Hope this helps :)

Don't point one of your toes in the pie shape. Instead, keep it parallel with the other ski. Lift it up.

Lean, all you need to do is lean towards the hill, to turn you just twist, at first you might be moving fast enough to scare yourself but after a while you get used to it, the wedge is really boring, lol.

Do the wedge turn and slowly bring your other foot over untill you can do it fast. I just took a lesson on this. You should take one too.
