“They don’t use birth control.”
- Was not on Birth control, but used a condom
“Bad parenting.”
- No, my parents I believe are very good parents, have given me and my sisters the world and have always been there for us
“Boys peer pressure them.”
-No pressure, my idea
“We don’t have quality sexual education.”
- No, my mom had talks with me, and learned things in school
“There is no father in the home.”
- No, my father is still at home, grew up in a two parent home
I became pregnant at 15 with twins. It was my decision to have sex, and well I ended up pregnant, it was just something that happened. I, and probably including everyone I know, thought oh no that would never happen to me, but it did and I have lived up to my responsibility.

I grew up in a 2 parent home. They took me to church every Sunday and if I didn't go I would not be able to go out on the next weekend. I started having sex at 16 and was very lucky not to get pregnant. I think at that time I just felt like it couldn't happen to me. I don't know why I had this thought I just did. Most of my friends wound up having babies before they were 18, I was just lucky. It happens. But I do believe that if I had been given better education instead of being told abstinence I would have been more careful. I did not use any B.C when 1st starting out sexually. When parents finally found out I was sexually active they put me on B.C. immediately. And yes I do believe that sometimes even with the best precautions that Pregnancy will and can happen if you are sexually active.

I think this is more of a rant then a question, but I 'll put my two cents in anyways. I had the best parents a kid can possible have, and I still messed up. I got pregnant at 19. So no it wasn't my parents fault, and yes I knew about birth control, it was my desicion to sleep with my boyfriend (now husband). Having said that, I do think that we have succeeded in our marriage and are raising a family together because I come form such a strong family background and grounded morals. So I made a mistake but that mistake has turned into a huge blessing.

I got pregnant at 16. I was on birth control and i came from a two parent home. My parents made pretty good money. I was a 4.0 student and I was in advanced classes. I pretty much broke every stereotype.
I had my son and i completed school. I graduated with a 3.95 GPA and i am now in college working to become a nurse. I am on the Dean's list and i am a certified nurse aid. I took responsibility for my actions and having my son was the best decision i have ever made!
Oh and i am still with my son's father. We have been together for a little over 4 years.

Most teens get pregnant because parents don't properly chaperone their kids. I have had soooo many former teen parents tell me as much. I was 18 when I had sex. I was an adult and working. That's different from anyone under 18 who's not supporting themselves. But, 18 is waaaaayyyy too young as well.
I'm a firm believer in chaperoning dates until the kids are 18. Then they are on their own. I know of former teen parents who did just that, and it WORKED.

because they had sex
sometimes when a man and a woman have sex, the woman becomes pregnant
teen pregnancy is such an issue because society doesn't consider teens prepared (mentally, emotionally, educationally) to raise a child...is it really all that wrong?
many, many of my friends were young mothers, and with the majority of them, they have ended up with A.more education or B. better positions in life
because they became teen moms and had to work two times harder than the rest of us GIRLS (truly!)

Because it feels good?
Uneducated?
I do not think that birth control is being taught, only abstinence.
Some of the questions I have seen appear to come from people that are very young or quite uneducated.

good to read, tough to implement, children get influenced by the way the world moves, not by the book,
so, these things tend to happen because of curiosity initially and later becomes a lesson and the follow these lessons

I got pregnant because I am married and my husband can support me and the child with no problem and because we wanted a baby and we are prepared for it. Thats why I got pregnant.
