I think the majority of people who possess guns came to get those guns in some sort of bartering ritual, most likely with money, most likely in places some call "licenced firearms dealers" or from a private citizen. Yes, I think it matters me, and yes I really have a gun

"How do you think that average people possess guns ? "
Millions of Americans own guns for many reasons. Some hunt, some for personal defense, some for sport, some to collect and some for several of these.
You will have to correct me if I am wrong, but you seem to be asking this questions as if you think gun ownership is a problem.
Well, there are two types of gun owners. Legal and illegal. If you are a good citizen over the age of 18 for a rifle and 21 for a pistol, you may own a gun. If you are a convicted felon, have been adjudicated metally defective or another half dozen restrictions, you may not own a gun.
Person A is a law abiding citizen. He does not commit rapes and robberies and murders regardless of whether or not he owns a gun. Person B is a criminal and does not care if it is illegal to possess a gun because he already commits rapes and robberies and murders. If he does not have a gun, he will use whatever means neccissary to commit his violent acts.
So what happens when person B invades the home or work place of Person A with the intent to do great bodily harm? If person A is armed, they can fight back. If they are not armed with a gun, even if person B does not have a gun, how will they fight back? Person B has been in and out of prisons his whole life and knows how to inflict great bodily harm even with no weapon. Person A has lived a clean yet sheltered life and knows nothing of violence or how to fight off an attacker and win.
The Brady bunch loves to talk about guns and children and how dangerous it is to have a gun in the house. Did you know that far more children die from drowning in swimming pools than by an accidentil gun shot? Why does the Brady campain ignore this? If they really wanted to keep children safer, they would try to outlaw swimming pools . Next to automobile accidents, falling is the second leading cause of accidental death. Guns rank seventh behind autos, falling, poison, drowning, fires, and suffocation.
Here is the beauty of the second ammendment. It says you have the RIGHT to own firearms. But you also have a choice. If you don't like guns, by all means, don't own one! But don't think outlawing guns will make the world safer. Crack Cocaine is illegal and that is next to impossible for a criminal to buy or sell almost anywhere, right?
Your second statement made no sense so I don't know how to respond to that. :)

>>How do you think that average people possess guns ?
Safely and legally.
>>Does it matter you or you really have a gun.
Not sure what you're saying there but I'll guess. Do I worry about who else in the community is armed? No. I'm a sane and competent human being and I expect my neighbors are too.

Some people choose to own guns.** Some people choose not to own guns.* It is a personal decision or choice in whether to own them and use them or not.* People buy from individuals or Sporting Goods Stores mostly.* It should be everyones right to own or use them in a safe and responsible manner or not too.* In some Country's you are not permitted to own any or just certain ones, but people should always have a choice to own and use them or not.*

Usually people buy them from gun stores. I think that's what you were asking.
In most places there is a 'cooling off' period so you can't actually take it home straight away.
In Australia where I live the licensing system is very strict, and you need a shooter's license to be allowed to use any firearm, then you need a 'permit to acquire' to get one of your own.

I think most people legitmately buy their firearms through legal means, if that answers "how do you think that average people posess guns."
It "matters me", yeah, because I'm a freedom loving American who loves my family and friends deeply and I want to take common sense measures to protect them from threats to their safety.
The only "Problem" I see with guns is that not enough people own and know how to use them properly.

My only problems with guns is that I don't have enough time to shoot as much as I would like, and I don't have all the guns I want.
And armed society is a polite society. Everyone should be armed for the sake of civility.

Average people get a licence and can then get what ever (legal) gun they want. Do I care if people have a gun? As long as their not a criminal/ idiot I have no problem with it.

With all of the thought & effort that you put into asking your question & the way that you TRIED to phrase it, i don't think that can ever legaly posess ( own ) a gun.
My reasoning on this is, that i doubt if you would be capable of filling out the paperwork that is required , for a background check.
