Yes it is. I saw this same question in the celebrities category. It doesn't matter about the 3 year thing in my state. You are an adult at 18(unless you do some Manson crap then you could be charged as an adult if you are younger) This would be viewed as rape and this "man" would be charger with the rape of a child. He would be a level 3 sex offender. But it seems to be okay if you live in Hollywood.

Last I heard he was 18??? But, I dont really follow along. You maybe right, he maybe 19.
In my state - Minnesota - 16 is age of consent.
Many states list 16 as age of consent. Or have a 36 month clause - meaning one party must be 36 months older than the other.
Think a 16 year old high school junior and an 18 year old high school senior have sex after prom? THAT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. I bet there are dozens of guys/girls who sleep together at most high schools where one is an 18 year old senior and the other a 16 year old junior. You cannot tell me these people are RAPISTS.
HECK
I bet many people in this forum would be sexual predators. I know I slept with a 16 year old Junior when I was 18 and senior. I dont think that makes me a rapist. We were one grade apart and had known each other for 5 years.
If it happened in Louisiana and age 17 is consent - are you sure there is no statute about age separation? I cannot believe the state would charge an 18 year with rape for sleeping with a classmate who is a 9 months, 9 weeks, 9 days younger. AGAIN IT IS THE SOUTH WE ARE TALKING ABOUT - so anything is possible....
--- Looked it up...
If she is 15-17 years old and the mail it is 24 months older and between the ages of 17-19, than it is a misdemeanor.
But, if she is 16 and he is 18, then it is fine if they are not more than 24 months apart.
Lousiana state statutes... 14.80 and 14.80-1
----
I just read an article that said Spears has been living in California and that Aldridge is only 18. In California if an 18 year old is less than 36 months older than a juvenile, they may have consensual sex if they are not related...

Q: What is the legal age of consent to have sexual intercourse in California?
A: 18 years old. This means sexual contact with a minor under the age of 18 is illegal in the state of California even if the minor says it is consensual.
Q: What is the California statutory rape law?
A: The California statutory rape law is titled "Unlawful Sexual Intercourse" Section 261.5 California Penal code.
Section 261.5.
(a) Unlawful sexual intercourse is an act of sexual intercourse accomplished with a person who is not the spouse of the perpetrator, if the person is a minor. For the purposes of this section, a "minor" is a person under the age of 18 years and an "adult" is a person who is at least 18 years of age.
So yes, he should be in jail.

There is an age gap that is allowed when it comes to sex partners, otherwise a person who just turned 18 could not be with someone who is 17 and 364 days. In most states it is 3 years, so a 19 year-old can have sex with a 16 year-old.

Laws change depending on where u live. I live in Canada where age of consent is 16, so not here u wouldn't but if age of consent is different there then it would be statutory rape pregnant or not if the family decided to press charges. Good luck

Consent to sex laws vary by state. California is 18. So what you describe would be a crime. However, just next door in Nevada, the Consent to sex age is 16 as it is in the majority of states. In Nevada, what you described would not be a punishable crime.

Depending on the state,it probably is statutory rape.It is probably best to remember that several minutes of pleasure can result in years of hardship. With no pun intended, hardship can be a life long experience.

Yes, it's illegal in California, but it is only a misdemeanor in this case.
