Would you say the same about the Greek myths or epics? Think carefully before answering that.

No it was not written by a bunch of drunks, and I would seriously consider researching what you're talking about rather than making inflammatory and baseless statements.

While I don't see any evidence that the Bible is true in its claims, I certainly can appreciate its history and the meaning that it has for others.

I am getting alot of laughs at the answers. All I can say is I don't think they were drunks as their wines and beers were not strained and distilled like those of today. They were a little chewy actually. They did the funny mushrooms and made concoctions of different herbs and etc. Getting high was part of their life style.

If one of your friends walked up and told you that god had spoken to them and had told them that he had a message for the world that he wanted your friend to write and publish it, you'd think he was insane. The men (and 2 women) who wrote the bible thought that god was talking to them, and I try to remember that each time I hear something from the bible that sounds ridiculous; maybe this author was just crazy and thought god was sending him messages in his cornflakes.

The only drunk in the Bible to write anything was Noah after the flood. Which I think I would have tied one on too if I went through what Noah did.

To Christians it is the Holy Word of God. But I think you knew that already.
