All the usual:
Reason
Common-sense
Logic
Applied intelligence
Lack of any credible evidence
The history of mankind
The history of religion
Study of religious history
The fact that ALL gods and goddesses have been products of man's imagination
Awareness of the weakness of human nature, particularly of the uneducated
..... and so it goes on
I was lucky in that my parents were atheists. They introduced me to a form of christian religion and allowed me to assess for myself, with no guidance from them at all, and take whatever decision I came to. At 12 yrs old, I opted to dump religion in its entirety as it just did not make any sense at all.
Religion is, effectively, an extension of wishful thinking that takes over a person's life and their wanting it all to be true so much makes it true - to them only. Pitiful.

It is a lack of evidence.
Arguably, it is a god that is preventing my belief. An omnipotent (all knowing), omnipresent (always existing), and omnibenevolent (perfectly good) deity would know exactly that it would take to convince me, and one simple fact would be all that it would require.
Evidence is the name of the game.
And I am open to any idea that has it, whether Shiva, Jesus, Buddha, Thor, Zeus, or any concept.
Really, tell me what makes you believe that all other 2,000 gods are incorrect, when your only evidence is the same as every other religion (none).
P.S. I do believe in myself. I love life. I don't need imaginary problems (original sin, hell bound) to convert me to a religion that does not improve quality of life, but invents superstition for its own agenda.

I don't believe in praying my problems away or blaming my insecurities on a higher power that hasn't fixed them yet. I don't believe in blackmailing a person into thought or Judgment Day, because if anyone is going to judge me, it will not be an imperfect holiness who has no idea of what it is like to be a flawed, fallible human being in the situations I am in.
I make my own choices. An institution will never think for me.

My own imagination thinks that everybody wants me to turn away from God so that I am the only person who will go to hell. Because they think I have changed the way people live (they could be different, but I think they want the same future). I think they say that I am the only person that creates itself as a source of technology and bridge between reality and imagination (as well as the retro-futurist ideas). But I still remain faithful to God!

NO ONE is stopping me from believing in god. LACK OF EVIDENCE of his existance is stopping me from believing in him.
I do believe in myself, I know I can do anything that I put my mind to doing if it's possible.

Logic, common sense, intelligence... the idea of believing in God is ridiculous. There is no evidence to support it, and if you think of how the bible describes god it is physically impossible for him to even exist. It's all fantasy and politcs.

One can't stop believing when they don't believe in the first place. Most people here seem to have misread your question.
