I was in a spiritual slump for a very long time. The circumstances at my church in dealing with certain people has lead me to be in this position. But! I am getting better. Just not anywhere near where I would like to be. My question is this: Could I be on the brink of a powerful breakthrough? Because lately, I am more mindful of God. If I do something that is wrong all of a sudden I get this feeling of conviction. Like a type of feeling that you get when you know you did something wrong! In the past I used to kind of not think about it so much. But I am beginning to feel the same way I felt when I first turned myself over to the Lord. I'm feeling more forgiving, more hungry, and desperate. I actually have a strong desire to turn my life over to God completely. But its strange how it is happening. Some people say: "Just turn your life over to god" Well, in the past I felt that like that was nearly impossible. Now, I feel like I can actually do this!

The Bible says faith without works is dead. But if you have no faith, then you will have no desire to do the works that keeps your faith. Faith in God will give you the edge to do that which is required.

That is a manmade trap. God is a PERFECT being. You are not capable of pleasing or displeasing him. Those are human ideas that we project onto everything, including a perfect being. Ridiculous. Be spiritual. Religion brings in tons of manmade laws. Only stick to God's laws. Religion is for people who are trying to keep from going to hell. Spirituality is for people who have already been there. Come from your heart and from love, not fear, and you'll never be lost.

You are going through an experience similar to the experiences the children of Israel went through. I would say that you are on the verge of a major breakthrough.

The fear of the Lord leads to the godly sorrow that produces repentance leading to salvation. It is time for a major breakthrough in the Chrisitan church. Maybe you are on the verge of becoming the kind of Christian that existed prior to the 4th century.

We all go through these spiritual slumps now and again but the good part is you still feel the need to draw nearer. Satan loves to get us into a blue mood to talk to us and cause us to doubt, usually it is at a crossroads in our life where we must make decisions that will effect us gratly. I am thankful that you still fell the need to pray and draw closer, do so and allow the Holy Spirit to minister to you. You are in my prayers

Sounds like your a very intelligent person indeed. One who will not regret that decision for an extremely L O N G time to come. In fact a decision you will be grateful for making for trillions and trillions and trillions times trillions of years plus. Keep up the excellent work.

I spent 56 years seeking the Lord Jesus Christ and His church and it happened in 2007 and now I am living under His wings. You will have that satisfaction and peace and contentment also. Just keep seeking and being obedient.

Keep it simple. Just do the "will" of God and God will take care of the rest.
