Absolutely NOT! I always try to vote on the issues and to choose (unfortunately) the person I believe to be the least harmful. In my experience, career pols say whatever they need to to get elected, and then do whatever they want. Remember, they are elected to represent the will of the people, not to know/decide "what is good for us."

You seem to be asking two diferent questions.
1 - Will I allow my religious views to influence my vote? Well, since my relationship with God is #1 in my life, my religious views influence EVERTHING I do...... so YES.
2 - Will I vote for the person who wears their religion on his sleve? I will take into acount how the person prtrays his faith, but all the while understanding how this is often a "role-playing" rather than who they really are..... so NO.

I voted in national elections for the last 22 years. I think I'm going to sit this one out. I'm not really impressed with any of the Republican candidates this time around.
But, if I did decide to vote and included my religious views as a factor in my decision who to vote for, what is that to YOU or anyone else?

It obviously will influence my vote. What is the point of having religious beliefs if they don't influence you? But, I will not refuse to vote for someone because they aren't Christian, or only vote for someone who is. That is just one consideration of many. You have to go with the best leader, and even if a politician is Christian, if s/he is a bad leader, I'm not going to vote for that person.

I don't practice any particular religion (I am a pantheistic spiritualist) and I will not be voting for someone who is like Huckabee or Bush.
This is from Huckabee's campaign site,
"My faith is my life - it defines me. My faith doesn't influence my decisions, it drives them. For example, when it comes to the environment, I believe in being a good steward of the earth. I don't separate my faith from my personal and professional lives."
Somehow I don't believe this man is going to respect the constitution or international law.

Considering that I'm a Pagan and there are no Pagan candidates that I know of Religion has never really played a part in who I vote for. There's not much difference in any of the candidates anyway. Neither republican or democrat. They all answer to the same corporations.

I will not vote for someone who pushes their religion in order to get votes. I don't care that a particular candidate has belief as long as they can see the big picture and put their personal beliefs on the back burner so that they can fairly represent all Americans of all beliefs.

I will vote according to my religious views. It will not be Huckabee since I lived in Arkansas during his first term. I cannot trust him.

Separation of church and state... enough said... I'd sooner vote for an admitted athiest or someone who REFUSES to divulge his/her beliefs than I would someone who admits to holding the same beliefs as my own... not like many pagans rin for office, but I still would rather keep theology OUT of politics... to quote a great and relivant bumper-sticker, religeon should stay out of politics, or be taxed.

Yes and no. As an Atheist I will pack my bags and move to Canada if Huckabee wins the presidency.....other then that I do not take into consideration their religion unless they flaunt it in their campaign (which I consider a bad BAD sign).....
