For the past couple of months my friend/ neighbor has been doing massages in her home. She does not have a computer or the internet and I have been posting ads for her on craigslist.
Her brother is licensed - he gave her a massage table that she uses for the clients and she has known how to massage for about six years. Her husband is out of the country and will be back in 2008. She needed to find a way to make money (she is a stay at home mom) while he is away.

Last night I was going to post a new ad for her and I saw that someone posted that they wanted info about her. Someone responded and said that her home was dirty and had bugs/roaches. Should I tell her? Should I continue to post ads for her... or should I tell her and let her decide?

She knows her home is not the cleanest.
Her husband does complain and she does realize that she is not the best...
what is the word housekeeper?
She tells me that she cleans up and vacuums before they come - I am sure she does who would open there dirty home to strangers?

Jo Jo - it is okay. When you go to the theraputic (massage) section to post you check licensed or unlicensed.

she needs to know that kind of negative feedback is out there, and maybe it will motivate her if her house does indeed need cleaning.

Georgia,

Unless you are making any money out of this I would strongly suggest you not post any more ads on Craig's, and this very thing could ruin a relationship.

There are all kinds of people out there, and you just don't want to get involved.

A friend is a friend, but this is too much. She can always post in the library for free, or someone elses house.

Hmmm was it could be someone that is upset she is massaging their husband or boyfriend or it could be someone that felt they got a raw deal and is being supremely juvenile about the whole thing. Have you been to your friend's home? Is it nasty? Either way, to answer your question, yes, you should tell her - she has every right to know what people are saying about her and if it is the truth, then perhaps it will encourage her to use a vaccum every once in a while.

Tell her youre not going to post anything for her unless shes going to clean her place up. You did her a favor, its the least she could do especially if your name is somehow involved.

You are going to screw your friend big time! She can get fined for not having a license! Its usually a huge fine. Yes tell her. You meant well but you can't assume she wanted to be advertised about her illegal business. She needs to cover her tracks if its not too late.

tell her what you read, then give her a chance to rectify the situation. then maybe you can send a quick message to whomever it was that complained, and let them know the problem was resolved and that their business would be appreciated, if they'd be willing to give your friend one more chance.
