Parents claim to have unconditional love for their kids and this would be a situation were you have to prove it. Personally, if I had a child and they wanted to convert to ANY religion, I would support and respect their decision. Islam is a peaceful religion just like most religions it preaches tolerance and forgiveness, but sadly a few radicals spoil it. Seeing as how Allah and the Christian and Jewish god are all technically the same God, it shouldn't make a difference, and since I myself am Agnostic I would just be glad that my child had found something to help them make sense of life. Bottom line, if you truly love your kid, it wouldn't matter if they worshiped a banana, they are still your child, end of story.

Wow .It seems like most of the people who answered your Question would rather their children get into sex ,drugs and rock n roll before Islam. My mother was very worried when I converted. She did not know anything about my religion. She thought I had joined a cult.Once she saw how good my life had become and how grounded I had become she realized that I was OK and that I was living a clean and pure life. Please do not be afraid of Islam or Muslims.I know that there are bad things on the news every day that worry you But please understand that there are Bad people of every race and religion on earth. Islam is a peaceful and good way of life.

Often teenagers, need as much negative-attention from their parents, as positive-attention(Love).... I'm not sure why...I think it is that those of us that have been-spoiled have never learned the impact of 'no', because, our parents didn't always model this behavior for us.
Don't over-react, but don't under-react! Think back through the context of your past, if it wasn't religious-experimentation was it something else, and what was it about that 'else' that led you to act the way you did.
Answer, this, and I believe, you knew the answer all-along, you just may of been afraid of the others-about critiquing your response....

Since I am only nineteen and have no children, I don't know what I would do. I would tell them that it is a wrong path, and that Jesus said he was only way to heaven.
Jesus said, "I am the way the truth the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."
1 John, "Even in his Son Jesus Christ, he is the true God and eternal life."
At the time of Moses, there was only one way to God. And that was through the Messiah.
Before Jesus came to earth, Jews were saved by believing Messiah was coming to save them. Just as we are saved by believing Jesus is coming to save us.
The prophets spoke about Christ Jesus, including Moses. Christ is the "prophet unto like Moses" predicted in the Torah.
But when he came, Jesus said that the Jews would surely die in their sins if they did not believe he was the One he claimed to be which is the Messiah or the Old Testament term for Messiah "Son of God".

I would let them show me the materials they have studied that may have led them to their new beliefs. I seriously doubt, if anyone who knows the truth behind that religion would ever convert. Most of those who are converting just think it is the new "chic" thing to do. They have not taken the time to learn the real hardcore truthful details of it.

honestly no one thinks in a good way , will convert to Islam , it's full of useless words ,,, if i was the father i would have convinced them with leaving it ,,, but if they insist , then i am not going to force them to do anything , bcz they are supposed to be responsible for themselves but yeah , i will not treat them as nothing happened bcz they need to think about it again

Only people with mental challenges similar to those of John Walker Lynd, Cat Stevens, and Cassius Clay convert to Islam.

As long as it's not some fundamentalist wing of Islam, like Wahabbism, then I'm good with it.
Peace to you.

I would be very upset. As they know the Truth, the Way, and the Light. But, I am comfortable knowing that my children all profess to be saved and display fruit of one who is saved. And since that is so, the lord himself lives within them. They cannot be decieved by lies.
