OK, so i'm not 100% sure what it is to be a Satanist, I am pretty sure it doesn't involve being a child molester, sheep sodomiser, graveyard vandaliser, flag burner or ouija consultant.

I'm just not sure whether it's just a way of thinking (a'la La Vey), or whether there is a way of pracising it and somehow making my life better. I've tried the Jesus stuff and that is all Emperor's New Clothes gimmickry and pseudo spiritual inner healing which actually doesn't work at all when faced with real life.

So I'm asking any practising satanists for tips and pointers

Whoa, whoa, whoa.... Dang it man. Not all Satanists follow Lavey. I was a Satanist waaaaaaay before I'd ever heard of the man. I was taught from the master of enlightenment himself, at a pretty early age. And yes, I used to be fairly devout crispy, even carried a bible around with me trying to convince others of my faith. Then one day I just had an epiphany. It was like waking from a coma. I devised my own rituals, spoke the names of entities I'd never heard of before.

The key to having it help you in your life isn't in the belief system itself, you'll spend the rest of your life tring to defend yourself from anyone who gets wind of what you are, trust me.

It's in the ritualizing of your emotions. Aligning yourself with the very forces others stand outside of a circle to protect themselves from,(hypocrites). It's balling up your energy and releasing it into the ether with proper aim and timing. It's anything from ritualizing your emotions to seek comfort, to seeking retribution for having been wronged.
And it's taking responsibility for your own life.
Ceremony, ritual, even dogma all encompass Satanism.
Please don't listen to these idiots.
E-mail me and I'll sketch out a few rituals to get you started along with some pointers on how to make your rituals efective. Cleansing yourself of pent up emotions is just one way to make your life better.
Killing self-denial with a healthy dose of responsibility is still another.

Edhelosa has performed a quality task in summing it up. I could additionally endorse taking slightly seem at Thelema if you're interested on this discipline. It was once created by way of Aleister Crowley, a person who has inspired so much of western tradition, Anton LaVey was once prompted by way of so much of his paintings. Personally I view the LeVeyan Satanism as some thing which represents human nature, it offers a first-rate knowledge into the psychology all of us have. Isaac - I'd, like, completely depart and be taught the change among Theistic and Atheistic Satanism, guy. Why remark if you have not trained your self in such locations, you simplest pass so as to add to confusion for others. The darkish arts you are speaking approximately belongs in Harry Potter, if you're relating to "Magick" and specific rituals concerned, then I could say you may have a totally faulty view of the most important understandings in such locations. Boba Fett - You are a "pathetic loser" for now not knowledge that there's **no** superstition inside LeVeyan Satanism, it will also be argued it's headquartered upon human psychology. Joe N - What I mentioned to Boba Fett applies to you too, pass and train your self.

No, Satanists aren't child molesters, flag burners or anything else any more than people of other religions. In fact, a COS high priest reported a young man that sent a threatening email to the Church. He threatened to kill his own grandparents. The Satanist called the FBI. COS Satanists believe that children and animals should be protected at all costs. Church of Satan (LaVey) are atheist/humanist and theist Satanists do believe in an entity called Satan but view him as equal with God and/or Christ.

There are Satanists here, I'll star the question in hopes they may see it. Also, do a google search on The Church of Satan, the Joy of Satan and The Temple of Set.

Added: Wow! Now I know how to bring out the Christians and drive them crazy. Ask a question about Satanism, not atheism.

Pick up the Satanic Bible. Read through it. Go check out some Satanic message boards, and ask questions (I've long ago lost the links to the ones I used to frequent, otherwise I might give them to you). Check out sites for some of the Satanic organizations like the Church of Satan, the First Satanic Church, the Temple of Set, and a few others. Most of all question and think.

For me it was more of a philosophy than anything although there were some practical spiritual elements to it for me as well. But then I wasn't a "typical" Satanist either, if there is such a thing.

I use to be a satan worshiper and this is what you do not want to be. I became possessed and only after becoming a Christian did I get free. My life was horrible before Jesus. satan will torment you, make you ill and you will be so unhappy. Jesus is true joy and peace. What happened that changed your mind about Jesus? I have been healed and delivered and would never go back to the way I was. If you need to talk you can always e-mail me.

First of all, i am NOT a satanist. and that is not the answer. those are people who worship satan and despise Jesus Christ.
And this "Jesus Stuff" IS the answer. Christianity is more than just having something to turn to when your life isn't going how it should.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish, but have EVERLASTING LIFE!"
I'm not going to preach to you, cause that would take hours. But God IS real and He loves EVERYONE, but He cannot help you if you don't live for Him. Now, what I mean by "living for Him" I mean you have to Admit you are a sinner, Believe Jesus is God's Son and that He died on the cross to save you from your EVERY sin, and Confess your life to Him.
I suggest you take my advice, because those who do not know the Lord and/or deny Him - go to Hell where you will burn for eternity. I know this may be hard for you to understand, but please, please make the right decision. And know I will be praying for you and all the other lost people in the world. and have a Merry CHRISTmas! [ and a happy new year] and by the way, going to church doesn't mean you have to dress up and be all proper and stuff. just go as you are and God will accept you because He DOES love you.

I am the ex girlfriend of a La Vey Satanist, who led his own group for quite awhile. We have been together 20 years and he still loves me-so he is never too far. I think it has helped his life a lot. He is not bound by moral absolutes and feels the freedom to do things his way. (That doesn't mean commit crimes, hurt others without reason, etc. or be a scumbag.)

I find him to be way more honest than many people, especially many Christians. You can take him or leave him. He won't conform to what you think he should be. He has always looked out for me and protects me from harm. He is true to his own nature, and won't suppress natural human drives. He has really encouraged me to be more independent in terms of taking my life in my own hands instead of waiting for a God to do things for me. He believes we create our own energy, in addition to the existence of natural energy.
He does not believe in any Divine Force at all, and is more than a little hard on me for believing in such. But I think he has the best intentions. He also gets hard on me if I feel guilt for anything I shouldn't feel guilt for.
Just someone who does things his way...it can very selfish at times but when he sees that it harms someone he loves, he backs off. He really enjoys life, more so than many. A little too materialistic in my personal opinion though.

The whole satanist thing is just a lot of hype and bullshit with a core of sheer self-defeating stupidity and evil. It still the Jesus stuff, only turned backwards, but it's all part of the same thing - doesn't matter if you turn it heads or tails, it's still the same coin.

If you are really looking for an alternative faith, I suggest Buddhism, Hinduism, Wicca, or even Islam. If you don't discover enlightenment there, at least you'll learn some interesting stuff along the way.

Yah I'm not into the whole church thing either. But ya know I still beleive in God. i know the reason your feeling that is because all the churches are wacked out. Try relateing to God in a different way. You dont have to go to church to be connected. I hate going to church and I dont go but I still keep beleiving. Going Satanic aint gonna help ya. It'll only make things worst. trust me....

I don't think you have met the matchless Christ;

I was raised in the occult and it is very oppressive and I would recommend you don't go that way

Living for Jesus with Him in your heart and life is a wondrous way to live not only here and now, but in the life to come
