This will be a time for you to come up with your own tradition. Make sure you call your relatives that you will not be able to see. Also try to make the holiday as special as you can for your own kids. Try a movie and popcorn night the night before or play a family game. Christmas do dinner your way. Make it unique and different then the norm

If this is your first Christmas with your family away from your birth family, try to start a tradition of some kind that will make this Christmas special for the kids. Make some homemade ornaments, make some candy or cookies(regular and diabetic) to take to a nursing home.Make sure they are marked. If you do this, contact the nursing home first. Go Christmas Caroling, build a BIG snowman. Anything different that can become a tradition for your family.I know you really can't but try to keep other things on your mind so it won't be so hard on the kids.Maybe EARLY Christmas morning, they can call their Grandmas and Grandpas and wake them. You are starting a new life in Boise, start a new tradition or two. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

I moved to Savannah 3 years ago and haven't been home to Atlanta for a Christmas since. Started our own traditions and now we do "Christmas in January" with my mom.
Just enjoy the holiday, make plans, do fun things with the kids... like, you could let them make homemade Christmas ornaments.etc.etc.

i'd be taking position to Texas to visit my kinfolk. If going away helps you stay away from seeing the feared kinfolk it surely might want to grant you with the outcomes you want, excellent? also, once you're in a sparkling position there is continually (a minimum of for me) the excitement of exploring the hot ecosystem. i'm particular i might want to seem for and visit small, quaint villages positioned interior reach the lighthouse. so a lengthy way as lacking the comforts of my living house... i do no longer imagine so. Renting a house or a inn room must have each of the comforts i choose. regardless of each little thing you aren't any more going camping out (which will properly be chilly, lacking operating water, a bathroom, electrical energy... the necessary needs). Beside, you're planning a Christmas faraway from living house it is likely... what? One week, 2 weeks max? you aren't any more transforming into a member of the military! : ) i think i might want to take care of even interior the case that each little thing became no longer precisely proper. regardless of each little thing, the vacation receives me faraway from evil, stressful (or regardless of the actuality that) kinfolk. i might want to say that once you've the potential "flow for it and characteristic relaxing!"
