50,000 per year depending on the size of the department. A larger department pays more than a small department. The one that I work for starts out at $47,000 plus a year.

Most citys(not large) are a little over 30K but their salary after the first year goes way up(probably because most 1st year cops ride along with a more experienced cop) The median salary or the salary after you have been in the force awhile is between 40k-45k And if you rank up in the department(usually after 10yrs.+) you can make 50K+ It may not sound like much, but Police Officer have really good insurance, retirement benefits.

Totally depends upon where you live. In Suffolk County, NY police officers can make 100;000 a year after 3 years on the force. In Hattiesburg, Mississippi they make 24,000. I would think that a national average would be around 65,000 a year. But it's hard to say since you didn't specify rank or time on the force.

It varies from department to department. It also depends on how affluent the taxpayers are. Many cities or towns that pay well will not hire an officer who has not attended an academy, but will hire, from towns that pay less, the officers who have been trained.

Depends on department and part of the city.
Typically metro Denver departments start between $40k-$55k up to $60k-$75k after four/five years. Add in maybe 30% for overtime, court appearance etc

Not enough for the sacrifices they make on a daily basis, that's for sure.
My husband's department starts at about $38K a year, and the township next to the city starts at about $50K a year for the same job. It's really dependent on the department.

You gotta break it down by region. I make 3 times what a cop in rural Arkansas makes.
Of course he can afford a nice house there, where as I have to live in a cramped condo on this pay.
