Serious question...it must happen sometimes...and no disrespect intended to those suffering from mental illness.
Thanks.

Thanks guys...but really, let's say someone had a helpful voice in their head and they went to the casino to gamble and the Voice could tell them the right numbers or whatever, would that be crazy or would it be awesome?

vis, I feel for you. I hope your daughter gets better; I am sorry she has serious problems. I hope her voice turns helpful.

Auditory hallucinations are not always ego-dystonic or particularly upsetting to the patient. Some are seen as "friendly" or "helpers", whereas others seem more sinister or menacing. A hallucination is a hallucination, regardless of the content.

I have never heard of the voices being helpful. People who hear voices often perceive the voices as frightening and telling them to do things they do not or should not want to do. Crazy is an outdated term and is derogatory for those who have mental illnesses.

A person with Multiple Personalities is considered to have a PSYCHOLOGICAL DISORDER.
This term means they have an unusual manner of functioning.
They are not considered to be crazy.
Some of the voices speak positively and others negatively out of anger or fear.

nope..not unless it like the inner voice that tells someone to stay in school.. in stead of quiting.. or to put that bottle of pills back..etc.. unfortunately to many times it like the voices in my daughters head that tell her to take that razor apart..
