By understanding we're all broke and don't need expensive or many gifts.

Also - that I NEED to watch How the Grinch Stole Christmas (the original, not Jim Carey).

((Goddesssy - can I be adopted by your family? Cheers))

They sent me to search for my presents down the street and when I couldn't find them, well, I couldn't find my parents either. They had the car packed and left when I rounded the corner. I was cold and alone. Hadn't eaten in a week. When they got back, it shocked them to find me sitting on the steps waiting for them. They said they went to Disney Land. They said I wasn't home and they had to leave. They said I could go next time. They said they loved me. That was enough.

They gave me a very large sum of money. A hug, cheezy Christmas caroling, and a cup of egg nog would be nice but, it is even nicer that my rent is paid for a whole year. Merry Christmas to me! Love yourself!

They let me sleep in the barn instead of under the house.

By actions and words, but not just at Christmas time, but year round.

They seem to like me the rest of the year. I doubt they'll set aside Christmas to hate me all of a sudden.

My spouse shows me by listening to me gripe about my job. : )

He would say he loved me anywhere -- he tells everyone how much he adores me and I do the same about him.

My kids are showing their love by making a marginal effort to get along with each other.

I have no family. My "family" is the Father God. Who could be better than that?
