I am just curious is it pricey to install heating units under hardwood floors, and is it big on the bill.

Whats the pros and cons of it?

Is it better than a central air & heating

In floor radiant heat systems are a great idea and very energy efficient, but putting a system under hardwood is asking for big trouble as it will dry out the wood! These systems are typically installed under ceramic or porcelain tiles. Beware of any contractor who says it's no problem - it's very risky!

I have worked on several homes with radiant heat and hardwood floors. Ask your heating contractor about costs. It is more expensive to install than baseboard heat but more efficient to operate.
