assuming a god exists. There are trillions of stars, with possibly billions of habitable planets in teh known universe, why would god bother with mundane inhabitant of one single planet? Why would god care to micromanage morality for billions of people on one single planet out of possibly billions of them?

Jethro, did the word "Possibly" escape your notice? I used it twice. Now as far as your criticism goes, there is empirical data for planets circling other stars.

That's what man invented him for.

as you say assuming God exists and He made all the universe as we know it and what we do not yet know about it. Then God knows that we are the only ones that do exist. The whole Universe revolves around mankind. Everything was created for God's Glory. Man is at the heart of that to bring God joy for us choosing His ways and not the ways of Lucifer. God cast Lucifer out for Lucifer assuming he was more than he was. Lucifer thought he was worthy of being worshiped by other angels. God knew this and cast Satan/ Lucifer out of heaven. It glorifies God when we acknowledge Him. Our creator wants every person to accept Him as Lord and Savior. The alternative makes God sad that we would not accept such a free and generous gift. He knows every hair on our heads and calls us by name. All we have to do is have enough faith to call on Him In Jesus name to come into our hearts and be our Lord and Savior. then God makes Himself know to us and we receive the assurance you/ we are looking for. The change comes from within immediately to a truly sincere heart. I am amazed by what God is doing in my life.

Assuming a "single" God, I find what you say makes perfect sense.

(IMHO the following is related to the "staff" MyPreshus refers to...)

Perhaps it makes a little more sense to combine the Gaia hypothesis, with Animism, and take it to its logical conclusion.... fundamental particles "collaborate" to make atoms, atoms collaborate to make molecules, molecules collaborate to make cells. Cells collaborate to make (complex) organisms. organisms collaborate to make eco-systems. Eco-systems collaborate to make worlds. World combine and make solar systems ...... eventually ALL is combined to make a Universe.

If each "level" can manage itself in response to simple "commands" from "above"/"below" the whole system can be seen as single entity (as in monotheism). But I find it's more useful to "tease" interlinked systems out (this is like polytheism, and is probably what Animism is about). That way you can see how different systems/deities/humans/cells/atoms etc interact.

Also each level can only directly influence, and see, "levels" a few from their own. The top and bottom do not need to know how the other behaves, nor even to "believe" in the existence of the other, they just get on with it!

I give a (rough) concrete example where many are often referred to as one.... Parliament/Senate is composed of many members, each with there own thoughts/ideas, but they can be combined to form a single "entity".

Let's extend this a bit, as long as we're assuming. Let's assume that God not only *does* exist, but *is* in every atom. Why, then, would God watch, when God is represented by everything.

If you ever created anything perhaps you would understand. God created us therefore he is interested in our lives and how we CHOOSE to live them. Where do you get your figures anyway, billions of inhabitable planets? There is far more proof that God exists then your outlandish math and science quotes. That big bang you heard must have been your brain hitting the floor.

God doesn't micromanage. He has staff to look after the more mundane tasks.

Because He actually cares about us, whereas the average person doesn't give a crud about atoms.
Alternative answer: Because He's cool like that.

God is omnipotent and loves each one of us like we love our babies. Notice us? He made us and our beautiful babies! God lives in each of us. It's called our soul. Atoms? Don't wait til an atom bomb goes off before you give thanks to God! Happy Birthday Jesus. Glory be to God! Say hello to Pope John for me, oh, and Luther Vandross.
