to the gift given. And accepting the love with which it comes? Especially when "NO" is not an option.

Especially when no is not an option! Why do it in anger or resentment. It is also the best gift we can give ourselves, all that anger & resentment spills on us first because it comes through us. The one we are angry at only gets the leftovers.

Absolutely; I hope your message gets across, especially to those who need it right now, Debra.

To learn the humility of accepting help by saying "yes" is a blessing in itself.

I disagree. If we can't say no, without the appropriate impact, we can never really say 'Yes'....which begs the question, that if the latter were true, would choice exist at all, in any form whatsoever.

Those who are masters in Etiquette, may whole-heartedly disagree...but tell me this, if the only response you gave your children, is 'yes', would they be healthy, why or why not? I would challenge the same is true for us Adult's as well, anyone else?
.....................................................................

to whom it applies: The response 'No' need not be fueled by anger or resentment to be effective(productively), even though 'Apparently' it's not an option to exercise.

Yes...Often times however, we allow human pride to rule and thereby veto an attempt by another, to offer a gift given out of love and compassion and deny both a personal, heartfelt offering, as well as robbing the giver of a blessing.

...I learned this lesson many years ago and eventually repented of my foolish, sinful pride.

Depends on what you're being asked to say "yes" to. And, just out of curiosity, when is "no" not an option????
