There are many products made to treat a room and reduce noise leakage.
QuietRock® soundproof drywall,
QuietWood® soundproof wood,
QuietGlue® viscoelastic damping glue,
Dynamat
The idea is isolation. Don't use nails to put up the QuietRock because they will conduct the sound to the studs and out. Instead glue it to the drywall with the QuietGlue. You can Dynamat the Door to increase the sound isolation.
Have fun.

The most effective way is to build a room within a room, with separate inner and outer doors that are well-sealed. (Use solid core, exterior doors with weatherstripping.) The idea is that even though the inner walls will vibrate with the sound, it won't be conducted directly to the outer walls and the rest of the building. Double thickness drywall will help, too.

soundproof foam. Thats what my band did in my room so we could make home recordings. relatively cheap, tacky, and easy to use.

In super high end houses they dump sand in the walls. Foam will not do the trick.
