One of the leaders was with me, praying and speaking in tongues. At first I was just kind of freaked out, but then somehow it started to seem not so strange. I didn't understand what she was saying or anything, but suddenly I burst out crying. It was a happy kind of crying though, because I knew something major was happening. I felt a nice, warm feeling in my chest, and my hands felt like they were shaking, but when I looked at them I could see that they weren't. I felt the same sensation in my feet. It wasn't a bad experience. It felt so wonderful. I'm just trying to figure out what it was.

It was either a manifestation of God's Holy Spirit or it was a counterfeit Satanic spirit. There's no way to tell for sure. Having a "good feeling" doesn't prove anything. When God's Holy Spirit moves there is usually some kind of revelation of truth that leads to holy living. But like I said, maybe the leader was praying for your comfort in tongues or something like that. Or it could be another "spirit" seeking to seduce people away from the true Spirit of God. The Bible says that in a church setting people shouldn't speak in tongues unless there is someone to interpret.

1 Corinthians 14:27 If anyone speaks in a tongue, two or at the most three should speak, one at a time, and someone must interpret. 28 If there is no interpreter, the speaker should keep quiet in the church and speak to himself and God.

When I married my husband five years, I had never experienced anyone speaking in tongues. I, too, was frightened at first but that feeling left pretty quickly.

You experienced the holy ghost and it left you feeling the way you did. Don't be afraid of it! Hopefully you will continue enjoying that kind of feeling and seek out the Holy Ghost for yourself one day through prayer.

If you could not understand what your leader was saying, then they were not speaking in tongues.
The nonsensical babble that you hear people do nowadays when they claim to be "speaking in tongues" has NOTHING to do with what speaking in tongues was as described in the scriptures.
According to the Bible, the PURPOSE of speaking in tongues was for evangelists to be able to pass the word of God on to those who don't speak or understand his language. The "holy spirit" would descend upon him and he would be able to speak to them in their own language, even if he had never heard or studied the language before. "Speaking in tongues" has NOTHING to do with nonsensical babble, and anyone who tells you differently is deceived and/or is deceiving you.
What happened to you was an emotional reaction to you being under the illusion that you were seeing some sort of miracle, and most likely some sort of fear fight-or-flight response at seeing someone behaving insanely. (*Anyone* who sees someone behaving like that feels some sort of fear/intimidation, even if they believe that the person isn't insane. It is not normal human behavior, and our brains are not wired to see someone behaving like that without being somewhat afraid of it.)

If you are telling the truth then only you know what happened to you. I believe you were touched by Christ, and no human can understand that. I am amazed that as you listening to the leader speak in tongues it seemed strange. And then it seemed no so strange. Speaking in tongues is a gift form God. But it is a way to communicate to God when our natural language fails to communicate prayer to God.

God bless you and grow in the Lord.

I fell under the power of the Spirit only once in my life. That never happened since. What you experience is real. Only non believer try to get you to think you did it. But you and I know differently. We experienced a power that is not of man but of God.

And if there have been, we'd have no graveyards anymore because of the fact human beings could have caught directly to hauntings and possessions 1000's of years in the past! additionally, no possible be groundskeepers or proprietors of them for worry of hauntings! So, somewhat. merely loosen up. attempt to get a common nights sleep. do not drink caffeine or noticeably spiced meals in previous due day/night. do not artwork out at nighttime near to mattress time, and check out to easily do some deep respiration around the time you flow to mattress. this is totally enjoyable- merely take ten to 20 deep breaths, slowly.

It was nothing but your emotions going haywire. Your leader was not speaking in tongues if you did not know what he was saying. the bible states that if god was speaking through him to you in an unknown tongue then you would be able to discern what was being said. Or that god would at least provide an interpreter.
