I have never been there before, I am 26 and will be going with my husband and my 9 month old for 2 days. We are staying in Times Square and seeing a broadway show, but what else should we do, where should we eat, visit, whatever you can think of. Thanks!

For starters, dress warm. This city can get pertty cold, so pack warm clothing (i.e. heavy coats, gloves, warmer, etc.). Oh, I almost forgot, don't forget to pack warm clothing for the little one too.

Since this is your first time to NYC, then let me recomend the following:

-Empire State Building
-Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island
-Rockefeller Center and the Top of the Rock Observation Deck. You can also a tour of NBC studios
-Times Square (no trip is complete without visit to the"Crossroads of the World")
-Lower Manhattan/Wall Street Area
-Horse carriage ride through Central Park
-Brooklyn Bridge (you can walk across it too)
-Grand Central Terminal (largest railroad terminal in the country)
-Museum of Natural History and the Rose Center for Earth and Space
-A Ride on the Staten Island Ferry (its free and you can see the Statue of Liberty as the ferry crosses the harbor)
-Sightseening tour on a Double Decker Bus

If you're planning to shop while in the city, may I recommed the following:

-Macy's (West 34th Street and Broadway in the heart of Hearld Square - Flagship Store)
-Bloomingdale's (Lexington Avenue at East 59 and East 60 Streets - Flagship Store)
-The shops along Fifth Avenue (just don't max out you credit cards)
-FAO Schwarz
-Toys "R" Us in Times Square
-Lord and Taylor (5th Avenue at East 38th Street)
-Chinatown/Canal Street Area (if you want to go on the cheap for the stuff you can't get on Fifth Avenue)
-Hershey Store (for those with a sweet tooth)

I hope this information was very helpful. Happy Holidays and Happy New Years.

Be sure to dress warmly. You'll be walking around, and probably aren't used to doing that, unless maybe you live in downtown Chicago. And bring money. It's expensive.

It's also amazing. The whole vibe is alive. When they say the city that never sleeps, they mean it. You can walk down the street in the middle of the night and see people all over the place.

Two days isn't very long, and you've got some plans already, but there are museuums all over town. The Cloisters up at the tip of Manhattan is a beautiful serene place. You can ice skate at Rockefeller Center right in front of where the giant tree goes at Christmas. And shopping! The shopping is endless.

Have a great time.
