I think that is a great question, people are so caught up with the buying of goods and in a way where it doesn't help the cause. The cause is to help the poor and unfortunate, not to buy our families a new toy. Our society has brain washed us to spend money, rack up those credit cards in the name of Jesus, yah right, ok. If your going to spend money why can't you give to the unfortunate ones, there's no shortage of need here. Please don't worship yourself and worship the only One our Creator that deserves all the worship for He is the all knowing and all seeing, He has all the power. Do you think you are in control? He gives you what he wishes. You usually get what you want because He has given you free will, for a short time but after that you will pay for it. If you only knew what you loose in heaven for the negative things you do in this life, you would run to accomplish as many good deeds as you could. Don't waste time. The past is done and you have no control over the future so it is the present that you can affect, Satan will try to waste your time (the present) so you loose your precious time and at the end he will be laughing about it. Look around, do think all of the world and the universe was created by chance? Do you think an evil force could be the creator of such miracles? Wake up, satin makes you live in a dream land, time is going by and you will die so make sure you take the right baggage with you. May our Creator save us all from hellfire and bless those that are working for Him.

Nah. Christmas is a pagan festival (winter solstice) with Christian post-its applied to give it an air of respectability. Jesus was not born that we might give our friends Amazon vouchers.

Yep, Jesus is answering the prayers of all the corporations out there and as usual neglecting the poor who are using their last dimes because they think this is what Jesus wanted.

Most times no! But if our gifts can give a home to the needy, give them food upon their tables or clothes upon their backs then I would say in a sense yes.

Well gifts were given to him. Symbolically we celebrate his birth, so celebration is in order, including gifts.

No. It has to do with showing my love for my family and close friends.
I try to pick things that would mean something to them.
