I would rather have a dog, but there is not enough room in or around my apartment.

OF COURSE NOT!!!! I have 2 strays outside my front door right now that are sitting on a heating pad to keep warm and fresh food and water 3 times a day. We have inside cats and cannot let them in but are doing the best for them. They are warm and fed but need homes. I happen to have an orange tabby and a purebred siamese. Found a home for the siamese but the orange tabby needs a home. No one wants a full grown cat. He was killing birds under our feeder to survive when he was about 2 1/2 months old, i named him skinny kitty because he was so boney and starving to death. It took him a year to trust us and now he is 2 yrs and a wonderful nice cat. He has learned trust and love again and is ready for adoption. He is an inside/outside cat, ( i lock up our cat and let him in on occassion!) and i would prefer him to live in the country away from traffic. He doesn't know city life. Any takers? I am in my 40's and i know 6 men that have cats, and a single man in his late 20's is adopting the siamese on Sunday. I think it's great your getting a cat-

No, it's not weird. If you do not have the space or you are not home enough, then a cat is definitely the better choice. A lot of women like cats too - so that wont be a tough sell when you get serious with a girl.

Not at all. Your lifestyle and preference should influence the pet you get, not your gender. I've always had a preference for dogs personally, and my husband is more of a cat person. I was raised in a house with dogs, he was raised in an apartment with cats.... Nothing wrong with any of it.

If you're worried a cat might threaten your masculinity, get a male if it makes you feel better. And don't give him some fifi name ;-)

I have two orange cats and I am always looking for men who like cats. Some girls do want a man who likes cats so don't worry.

No it's not. I had a cat that I took in as a stray, I was 21 and there was a sleet storm going on. It showed up at my door, I lived in a commercial area. He was about ten years old the vet said. Pretty bad shape. One of my friends named him Egor (have no idea why), he lived for another ten years. Greatest pet I ever had.

NOO!! Actually, it's pretty cool that a guy would do that. Go ahead and get a cat. Usually guys would have a dog, but a guy with a cat is cool too. Do It Up!! (and no. they are not just for girls!)

Cats rock and a lot guys have pet cats. Forget about the '50s Dick and Jane stereotype.

No, cat people have cats. Dog people have dogs. It's no more odd for a man to have a cat than a woman to have a dog.

A guy having a cat can be very attractive to a woman, especially the sensitive or intellectual ones.
