I personally believe that US Americans are unable to do so, because uh, some... people out there, in our nation, don't have maps and uh I believe that our education, like such as South Africa... and uh the Iraq everywhere like such as, and I believe that they should... our education over here! In the US should help the US uh er should help South Africa and should help Iraq and the Asian countries so we will be able to build up our future... for....

This guy is right those answers were pathetic and I could believe that most americans cant locate the united states on a map because americans are getting more stupid by the second im fifteen i am american. I was raised to study as hard as could and get an education my dad came from another country and hes a university professor he was born in cuba but had to leave because the regime turned that island into a hell but a lot of cubans have good education because of it though not much more came out of it. most of my classmates call me crazy and stupid because i think the school system is to slow and im teaching my self 10th and 11th grade subjects because i get bored in class and im waiting for the morons around me to catch up. so please people grow a brain because if american kids dont start picking up the pace well be the country with less then 5% of our population being literate!!!

Well, what are the stats for counties that less than 5% of the population can read? Can they all locate the US on the map?
While some people can be ignorant of certain things such as geography, typically they make up for it else where. Looks like you could use some help with basic english while some people may need help with geography.

Wow...I'd like to know what poll you're talking about. I find it hard to believe that statistic. Granted, most Americans can't locate other countries but I've never heard of anyone not being able to locate ourselves.
