Do you think my dogs are pampered. They have a ton of room when there outside for the bathroom .They live inside. They have food that cost $35.86. ( or it was today!!!) I don't think it's expensive. They get presents and everything. They have their OWN rooms. a bed, couch, and pillows (2 or 3 each) They are Affenpinscher and Rottweiler. Do you think they are pampered and a little bit spoiled. Yes, they are pampered, way too much, but they do not care about any of that stuff or how much you spend. As long as you fulfill your dogs by walking them next to you everyday then giving food and affection and keep their behavior in check (since you should be the leader of the dogs), they are happy. The pampering is for you, so if it is what you love to do, go for it. Just try not to make the present giving excessive with lots of excitement. I think if you are even questioning this on yahoo! you subconsciously know the spoiling has gotten out of hand.

I read the comment from the vet tech about the American Eskimo and would like to reply. As a breeder of eskies, yes they do come in many sizes. A standard size is 15-19 inches high, a mini is 12-15, and a toy is 8 to 12. Toys are not as common, but they DO exist. Health problems? Eskies are no different than any other dog out there. If you are careless and buy a pup that has been the result of inbred parents, then YES it may have health problems! So would any other breed. Eskies are not that common.. and if someone carelessly breed to dogs just for the experience, they can harm the breed. A few genetic problems can occur... such as seizures later on in life. Kudos to you on the eskie being your favorite. An eskie is a fast learner. You can house train the pup in as little as 2 days. They are incredibly smart... and depending on the pup can be very independent. Independence is not a bad thing... it means they have quite a bit of character. All the more fun to play with and dress up. Eskies LOVE to be cuddled, adored, and pampered. Mine love to travel with me, one even loves to ride on my lap when I dirtbike. If you have trouble finding a toy, consider a mini as well. They are still very small, but a bit more common. Pomeranian are also much like an eskie. Very small, very fluffy, very cute. If you like and eskie, you would probably love a pom as well. Good luck in your search.

Dogs need fun and exercise. The fact that they have a ton of room when they go out to the bathroom is not relevant , they need you to go out there with them. Presents should be toys that you share with them. Dumping presents on them is not enough, toys and presents should be used to stimulate their minds.

OK perhaps, your dogs also have fun. My dogs sleep in my bedroom on a foam mattress and a duvet. I use toys to train and stimulate them and I play with them several times a day. They also have long walks.

Dogs do not need a wardrobe full of clothes, they need fun, training, companionship and LOTS of excercise. Pampering should never be an excuse for excluding the other things that dogs enjoy.

I consider my dogs to be very pampered, without crossing over to the ridiculous point. We live on a large ranch in central Texas. My dogs have access to the outdoors whenever they feel like like taking a stroll. Their dog houses are heated in the winter, and AC in the summer. ( not that they spend much time there) They have so many places on the property to adventure and play. We have a pool where they love to swim, as well as a pond where they love to get muddy. My boarboel has a twin sized bed, all to himself.(although he shares his bed with my cat sometimes) My other dogs, (American bulldog) prefers to sleep on the couch, and my pit bull, sleeps in the bed with hubby and me.
So I think my dogs are very pampered, without overdoing it. They get to feel a sense of freedom. I wish other dogs were as lucky as mine.

I don't pamper my dogs like that, I don't see the point. I DO however take very good care of them and offer treats, good food, and my home and love for them. I don't go as far as the doggie clothes, and the dog stroller (good grief), or taking the dog around in a handbag, and all that mess, I don't think it's natural for the dog, and most of them hate it, I'm sure!

No! Pampering your dog is normal. I do it to. My dogs have about 30 toys! I have began cutting down though. You can decide if your dogs are spoiled. The dogs should share toys, its good for you (moneywise) and for their social skills.
