There are more important things to love & marriage than rings. My Mom never had an engagement ring because she and my Dad were married right before he was sent to Europe during WWII and my Dad didn't have the money for diamonds. They were completely devoted to each other and were married for 62 years when he died. So I don't think ANY materiel thing equals love.
I never had or wanted a diamond engagement ring because I'm not a fan of jewelry; my plain band is fine and my husband loves me unconditionally

No not at all-every guy has a different income level therefore the size of the diamond depends the amount of money your guy has-please don't judge him by the size of the diamond on your engagement ring-unless he is rich and can afford it.
Also, there are different quality in diamonds-you may have a thinner band/smaller diamond but your quality diamond could be very good-white gold and platinum bands look alike but platinum is twice as expensive-so don't always judge by size-quality is more important : )

No, It just means he can provide for you which was the original sentiment behind an engagement ring, to show the bride and her family that she would be in good hands.
However if it is dodgy quality or if he bought it on credit then perhaps not so much with the providing.

The size of the diamond has nothing to do with how much he loves you. It's what he can afford. It's only bling. If he holds your head while you're puking with the flu, that's love. If he cooks you a meal or cleans the house when you're sick, that's love. If he still thinks you're the most beautiful woman in the world when you gain 60 pounds in pregnancy, that's love. If he's still there holding your hand when beauty fades and wrinkles set in, that's love. The ring is only a symbol. The test of true love is time and commitment.

Of course not...that being said I think guys feel the pressue to buy their girlfriend a big ring. Some girls also feel the need to compete with their friends and have a big ring to show off.

That is the dumbest and most material thing I've ever heard. I know my fiance loves me more than anyone else and I didn't even get a diamond... I got a sapphire.

some people may find it to be ike that because they consider the more you spend the more you cherish a person although in my eyez the ringz size has nothing at all 2 do with how much the person loves you

No, and it doesn't even mean he spent more money on it. It means he bought a bigger diamond, but it could be a crappy, flawed diamond!
