A mosfet is a type of solid-state 'transistor' if you will..
as compared to a tube type of amplifier- just the way the signal gets amplified.

1-Less likely to overheat

2-Faster in delivering full power.

3-More Durable

4- More reliable

5-More energy efficient during downtime

6-Easier on speakers when clipping occurs(distortion that can damage speakers)
