Tongue Cancer is called - Nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
Nasopharyngeal carcinoma is cancer that occurs in the nasopharynx, which is located behind the nose and above the back of the throat. The nasopharynx is the upper portion of the pharynx — a 5-inch tube that extends from behind the nose to the top of the windpipe and esophagus in your neck.

Signs and symptoms of nasopharyngeal carcinoma may include:

* A lump in the neck caused by a swollen lymph node
* Bloody discharge from the nose
* Nasal congestion on one side of your nose
* Hearing loss in one ear
* Frequent ear infections
* Headaches
* Double vision
* Face and neck pain
* A feeling of fullness in the throat and sinus areas

There are many sites having information on this. You can make a search for - "Nasopharyngeal carcinoma" and and you will get it. -

cancerhelp.co.uk or cancerbacup.co.uk both have infomation on cancer of the tongue. There aren't so much symptoms of it, just a sore or patch on the tongue that it unusual for you experience. There are of course lots of other reasons for this ir ulcers etc. May i also clarify that this is not nasopharyngeal cancer as that is cancer of the posterior portion of the nasal tract (nose) and the tongue is in the mouth.

If you suspect you have tongue cancer then see a Dr ASAP because tongue cancer must be treated quickly for your best chance at survival. If you are a smoker be especially wary if you have any symptoms.

dear toni
i have been diagnosed with oral cancer in my right cheek. two months ago, it was a small sore, white with a ridge around and tender and painful like a cancer sore. i went to my dentist in sept. and he said it looked like i was biting my cheek perhaps in my sleep. one month later after it grew to about the size of a quarter, i was sent to an oral surgeon who took a biopsy and i was told i have cancer. now it covers my whole cheek and into the corner of my lip. i will have to have surgery to remove my entire cheek and endure radiation and chemo therapy. i have a 30 percent chance of survival.
why am i telling you all this? to scare the crap out of you! if you have a sore anywhere in your mouth, painful or not, that does not heal in 7-10 days, see your dentist. then get a second opinion
please
