Some of these places you describe have a policy about bringing in pets. Always check with them first.

You can take pets where they are allowed or where you have cleared with someone that it is okay to bring them to their home. Otherwise in the States it is not allowed to take pets to stores and restaurants unless the dog is a guide dog. In Europe it is. I have sat next to a dog in a restaurant in Lyon, France who was very well behaved and belonged to the owner. It was very strange. In Belgium, France and Germany dogs are allowed in stores as well. In the States, it's a huge health issue. People got unset thinking a pet could somehow contaminate their surroundings. Once again, let's hear it for the few that get to dictate for the many. It's nuts. No one in Europe is dying because pets are allowed in restaurants and shops. And they clean up after their pets.

In some cases, it's not only rude, but I think unhealthy. I've been in stores where someone brought their mini-something and it ended up peeing on the floor. What's worse is these people who use the dog as an accessory seem unprepared for such an event and either walk away or stand there looking confused.

People, leave the fur-babies at home.

Ask permission first. Realize not everyone has tolerance for pets. Some people have allergies, phobias or plainly do not like them in their home, hotel, motel or whatever.

I have 2 kitties and always check. Kennels are a good alternative if you know about their reputation.

Good luck.

YES! My sister is very allergic to dogs. We were out shopping one day and suddenly she started having an allergic reaction and was having trouble breathing. When I asked her what was going on, she said quite loudly, "Someone's got a DOG in here". Sure enough, around the next clothes rack some woman had a little ankle biter dog in her arms and said, "Are you talking about my dog?" My sister let her have it, in no uncertain terms. We had to leave the store and my sister had to use her emergency medication.

Keep your dog at HOME!

No, pets are not allowed everywhere. Seeing eye dogs are allowed. Pets are not held to the same standards as seeing eye dogs.

only if you are intruding on the rest of the world. If yu are just driving around and going to the park, I see no harm in it. Some people only have their pets..or maybe only "want" their pets in their lives, so they wouldnt see it as harmful.
I agree in that I wouldnt want to eat my meal with a pet at the neighboring booth...but it's never happened.
I also dont want that kid sitting over there staring at me either!
Some people can control their pets better than they can control their kids.

Yes, it is. Now, I am not an animal lover, but am comfortable enough to admit that. Keep your dirty animals at home.
